Money-making 101 | Archeage Unchained Guide

So you bought Archeage Unchained and got really into the game, but can’t seem to make any serious money? Rest easy, you are not the only one! Getting into a game like Archeage is quite fun, but like most MMOs, you will need to learn its tricks if you really wish to make coin and do well.

The first thing to understand about this game is that the in-game economy is completely player-driven. This means that sometime along the way, you’ll see crazy inflation events in the market. It also means that making money can be a somewhat complex task. BUT… I have good news for you. I am doing a full three-part primer on the Archeage Unchained economy and ways to make money. There are many ways to get rich in this game, and I will show you all of them!

In this first article, we will be exploring two different Labor-based methods of making money: Coin Purses and Resource Gathering. So get your working boots on and let’s get to it.

Archeage Unchained 101: Money Making - Part 1

Method 1 – Getting Those Coin Purses

If you need money and need it FAST, then the fastest way to do so is by opening coin purses. When killing mobs, you will often be rewarded with one of the many types of Coin Purses.

Once the mobs drop these coin purses, you can convert them into coins by using Larceny. Keep in mind, that in order to get a decent amount of coin, you’ll need to max out your Larceny skills. This is because when you reach the famed proficiency level, you will be given a 40% labor discount. This will result in overall higher profits.

You won’t by any means get rich with this method. But, if you need some money FAST, then this method can definitely be great help.

There are in total 11 types of coin purses, but the most high-leveled easily dropped purses are:
– Jester’s Coin Purse (lvl 40 to lvl 50 mobs) – requires 5 labor points;
– Prince’s Coin Purse (lvl 50 to lvl 55 mobs) – requires 10 labor points;
– Queen’s Coin Purse (lvl 51 to lvl 55 mobs) – requires 20 labor points;
– Ancestor’s Coin Purse (lvl 55+ mobs) – requires 25 labor points.

This method requires some grinding, especially if you’re going for the Ancestor’s Coin Purse, but it’s definitely doable. And always remember: the higher the labor cost, the more money you will get from each coin purse. But don’t go all crazy and hit a lvl 55 mob when you are just lvl 30. You’ll get killed and get no closer to that Ancestor coin purse you were thirsting after.

Method 2 – Gathering Resources

You probably already know this by now, but in Archeage Unchained, there are a lot of trade-able resources with limitless uses. Whether you’re planning to build a house, a mansion, a war ship or somrthing else, you will need resources – and plenty of them too!

This Archeage Unchained money making method consists in analyzing resources and checking which ones are in high demand in the Auction House. Once you have done that, all you have to do is gather that resource and sell it. This method takes a lot of Labor points, and a lot of time to complete – especially if you don’t have your own farm. You will also need to keep an eye out for your labor points.

If you are a Patron, then you’ll have up to 5.000 labor points to spend, but for normal players, the max is 2.000. Patrons will get their labor regenerated at a rate of 10 points every 5 minutes while online, while normal players only get 5 points. But don’t worry, normal players can use labor granting potions, which will replenish labor points. Even sleeping in a bed will regenerate labor points! This last one regenerates up to 100 points, but is only useable every 22 hours.

Archeage Unchained 101: Money Making - Part 1

The three main gathering professions you’ll work on are gathering, logging and mining. Gathering is very helpful for alchemy, so flowers and herbs are always needed. You just need to check which plants give off the best price. As for logging, there are trees planted all over the map. My advice to you would be to buy saplings and plant them in your farm. When the saplings become full grown trees, just chop them up, head to the carpentry table and transform them into lumber.

If you don’t have a farm, I’d suggest you build one. Then again, if you don’t feel like doing the Blue Salt Brotherhood questline to get your own farm, then use public farms. Just remind yourself that everything you plant will only remain private for 3 days. If you don’t collect your produce within that time, then anyone will be able to take it.

On a personal note, when it comes to resource gathering, I usually go with logging. People are almost always looking for lumber. That means that when delivery is low, you can set a higher price and people will pay for it!
