Got yourself into an unwinnable CS:GO match? Are your enemies cheating with everything they got? You know there’s no point in sticking around, but you dread leaving the match and having to wait at least half an hour before you can hop back in.
What if I told you that you can get out of a match without getting that nasty cooldown? That’s right, there is a simple yet highly efficient trick to help you get out of a CS:GO match without triggering the penalty.
Why kick others or yourself in the first place?
To be fair, there are quite a lot of reasons for kicking someone out of a match. I mean, sometimes you get a good team, other times a guy shows up with a complete lack of in-game skills. And let’s face it, no one want someone on their team who is running with twice as many deaths as they have kills.
There is also the valid desire to kick other people who are spamming the chat, cursing, yelling at the mic, or just being toxic towards other people in the match. I confess to have voted someone off the match for those reasons, but the absolute worst are the cheaters. It’s pretty much always clear when someone is cheating, and it’s no fun playing with them or against them.
These are some of the reasons to kick others – or reasons for the others to kick you. So, how do you do it? Kicking others is quite an easy task, all you have to do is click Esc during the match > Call Vote > Kick Player > Choose the player. Now, keep it mind that this just calls for a vote. There is no guarantee that your teammates will feel the same way. Heck, they might even feel insulted, support the player you wanted to kick, and then vote to kick you out.
Kicking yourself out of a match
I’m pretty sure everyone at some point has wished they could get out of a competitive match without suffering the consequences, a.k.a. the penalty cooldown. Usually you can tell when everyone on the other team is blatantly using aimbots and wallhacks, and there’s very little reason to stay in a match like that. So, if you decide to kick yourself out, then there are a few steps to it:
- First, you have to activate the developer console, by pressing either \ or ~ (it varies from computer to computer).
- Then type “status” and click enter. Doing this will make a list of the player appear on the console. Find yourself on that list and copy the two number sequences after the hashtag.
- Last step is to type “Callvote kick” and add those numbers you copied earlier.
Trying to get out of a CS:GO match is that easy! The vote to kick yourself will start right away, and then all is left for you to do is wait for your teammates to vote you out of the match. But remember, don’t just go kicking others or youself every 5 minutes, or you might get banned!
