The Tokyo Olympics are over, but that’s no reason to forget about sports! Here are 11 promising new sports games coming out in Fall 2021.

Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions

Release date: September 3, 2021
Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows

Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions is an arcade boxing game based on the movies. The game features 20 iconic characters from the movies serie, including Rocky Balboa, Adonis Creed, and Ivan Drago. However, don’t expect to punch your friends online: Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions is an offline game, and only features a local PvP mode.

NBA 2K22

Release date: September 10, 2021

When it comes to basketball, it’s hard to ignore NBA 2K. The series has been around for over two decades, and popular basketball players like Ben Simmons and Josh Hart regularly play the game. NBA 2K22 revamps the series graphics and offers better ball controls, especially on defense.

eFootball 2022

eFootball is not a new football game developed by boomers, but the new name of the PES series. Konami made some major changes to PES’s gameplay, leading to a change of branding deemed more appealing to non-gamer football fans. eFootball will be free-to-play and cross-platform, including mobile. Esports lovers should also keep an eye out for eFootball 2022, as the game will kick off its first esports tournament this Winter.

FIFA 22

Release date: October 1, 2021

FIFA has been a staple of sports games for almost three decades now. Compared to the previous games of the series, FIFA 22 brings better textures and animations, as well as new gameplay mechanics. Other than that, EA keeps its usual formula with the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Ultimate Team, Career Mode, and VOLTA Football.

Knockout Home Fitness

Release date: October 8, 2021
Platforms: Nintendo Switch

Knockout Home Fitness is a Nintendo Switch game which uses the joy-cons to make you move with custom martial arts programs. Four personal trainers, ranging from friendly to strict, guide you through Muay Thai, boxing, kung-fu, and karate exercises. There is also a 3-minute Fitness mode, if you want to do some exercise but would rather make it quick.

NHL 22

Release date: October 15, 2021
Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

NHL 22 is the latest installment of EA’s ice hockey simulation series. This new opus brings the Frostbite engine to the series for the first time, improving the visual and overall performance of the game. There even are new eye animations so that your teammates can roll their eyes when you miss a shot.

NASCAR 21: Ignition

NASCAR 21: Ignition puts you behind the wheel of some of the most iconic cars and tracks from the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season. You can also meet the official drivers and teams, or just start your own career from scratch.

Riders Republic

Riders Republic is an upcoming game from Ubisoft focused on extreme sports. The game features ski, snowboard and wingsuit action just like the studio’s previous game, Steep, but also adds bikes and rocket wingsuits. Riders Republic is geared towards racing, and offers multiplayer games with up to 20 players on PS4 and Xbox One, and up to 50 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Just Dance 2022

Release date: November 4, 2021

Just Dance is back with a new edition, featuring 40 new songs. Just Dance 2022 doesn’t revolutionize the series but brings some popular new tunes like Dua Lipa’s Levitating or Mood by 24kGoldn and Iann Dior.

Forza Horizon 5

Release date: November 9, 2021

Forza Horizon 5 is the latest opus of the popular Xbox racing game series. This new edition brings us to Mexico, from its capital city to the desert, the jungle, or even an active volcano. Forza Horizon 5 features over 400 cars, including the 2020 Ford Super Duty F-450 DRW, the 1991 Jaguar Sport XJR-15, and the all-electric 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S.

Roller Champions

Release date: 2021… Hopefully.
Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows

Roller Champions is a free-to-play roller game developed by Ubisoft. The game features several game modes, including competitive ranked matches. However, there is yet no release date for it. The latest news from Ubisoft dates back to last February when the company shared a dev blog about matchmaking, MMR, and ranked mode. The game is still scheduled for 2021, so fingers crossed we will be able to play it this year.
