7 biggest new mobile games coming out in 2022 and beyond

With over 2.2 billion players worldwide, mobile games are the primary access to gaming for most players. Some great games are coming to mobiles in 2022, with famous franchises making a comeback or mobile versions of popular PC games. Prepare your thumbs, because here are the biggest new mobile games coming in 2022 and beyond.

Tomb Raider Reloaded

Lara Croft is back on mobiles with Tomb Raider Reloaded, a free-to-play action arcade game. Just like in previous Tomb Raider games, Lara Croft has to investigate ancient ruins and shoot anything that moves, though the action is now delivered with a softer, more cartoony aesthetic.

Tomb Raider Reloaded is already available in South East Asia, Thailand, and the Philippines. The mobile version of Lara Croft will be available worldwide in 2022.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is a collection of the remasters of three popular GTA games: Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas. This collection is already available on consoles and PC and will be coming to mobiles in 2022.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition takes us back to the days of the first GTA in 3D. Of course, it brings updated graphics and better controls. Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas are all critically acclaimed games. If you haven’t had the chance to play them yet, you have no more excuse now that they are coming to your pocket. And if you already played these games, you know they are worth a remaster!

Diablo Immortal

Do you guys not have phones? If that sentence rings a bell, then you probably already know about Diablo Immortal. The game received mainly negative feedback when it was first announced during BlizzCon 2018. Now that we are getting closer to its release date Diablo Immortal is showing more of its gameplay.

This free-to-play MMOARPG takes place between the events of Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. It will feature various activities like quests or dungeons, taking between 1 and 15 minutes to complete.

A word of caution if you plan on playing Diablo Immortal outside of your home: the game is fully online and requires an internet connection.

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is a free-to-play RPG bringing more lore to Final Fantasy VII through monthly episodes.

This mobile game goes back to the roots of several popular characters from the original game. Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will feature new storylines and scenarios retelling the events of Final Fantasy VII, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, and the movie Advent Children. Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis should come to mobiles in 2022, but there is still little information regarding its gameplay.

Valorant Mobile

Do we really need to introduce Valorant? The popular FPS that took the esports world by storm in 2020 is coming to mobiles in 2022.

Riot Games announced a mobile version of Valorant to celebrate the first year of the game. The gameplay should be similar to its PC version, but there is no information to this date regarding the specifics of the mobile version of Valorant. The release date of Valorant mobile has not been announced yet but is expected in mid-2022. We don’t know much about the mobile port, but considering the resources Riot has at their disposal we assume it will be a flashy experience.

Apex Legends Mobile

Apex Legends is another competitive FPS esports staple that is coming to mobiles in 2022. The mobile version of the game follows the gameplay of its PC counterpart, with fights against up to 19 other squads in 60-person battle royale matches.

EA and Respawn Entertainment are currently testing an early version of Apex Legends Mobile with a limited number of players. If you are not one of these lucky few gamers, you will have to wait a few more months before getting your hands on this mobile version of Apex Legends.

Pokémon Sleep

If Snorlax is your spirit animal, then we have some good news for you. Pokémon Sleep, a mobile game dedicated to Snorlax’s favorite hobby, will come out… someday.

The goal of this game is to turn “sleeping into entertainment.” While there is little information about the actual gameplay – if any – of Pokémon Sleep, the success of Pokémon Go and overall hype around the little creatures should be enough to guarantee users will download a game where Pokémon help you sleep better.

However, don’t expect a release date early in 2022. The game was initially scheduled for a 2020 release date, and there has been almost no information ever since. An SSL certificate was registered in April 2021, so we can still be hopeful the game wasn’t canceled and will make its way to us someday.
