Archon’s Thunder is a new Iron Banner weapon in Destiny 2. It is slow-firing but deals high damage, and gets accuracy bonuses when stationary and aiming down sights. Here are the perks you should look for on Archon’s Thunder in Destiny 2.
Perks and rolls
The stats you want to focus on increasing are stability and handling. Arrowhead Brake and Chambered Compensator are great choices. For magazine perks look for either Tactical Mag or Appended Mag. Accurized Rounds is also a solid pick-up.
There are a lot of strong options in the first column. Field Prep and Surplus are great in PvE and help shorten reload time. Rangefinder increases your max range and pairs well with the intrinsic accuracy buff. If you plan on clearing lower-tier enemies, Killing Wind is a great option.
Rampage is the only damage-boosting perk present on Archon’s Thunder. However, it isn’t always the best option. Elemental Capacitor boosts stats based on your subclass and all of these buffs increase the viability of the weapon. Avoid both Iron Grip and Iron Gaze as they hurt your reload speed and range.
Here are the perk combinations and god rolls you should look for on Archon’s Thunder in Destiny 2:
- Rangefinder + Snapshot – These two perks will bring up your effective range. This is a solid combo for PvP.
- Killing Wind + Rampage – A great kill-based combo that can be made better with a Rampage Spec mod.
It is great to have a machine gun that is not a Rapid-Fire Frame. Although it is outclassed by Adaptive machine guns in Destiny 2, Archon’s Thunder feels great. I should also mention it has a great aesthetic and lights up in Iron Banner. Archon’s Thunder drops from Iron Banners and its bounties.
