Scathelocke was one of the original weapons from Year 1. Previously in a more basic form, the new Scathelocke has a bunch of new perks to choose from. Here are the best perks you should look for on Scathelocke in Destiny 2.
Perks and rolls
As with most Auto Rifles, Scathelocke needs additional range. Look for Hammer-Forged Rifling, Smallbore, or Corkscrew Rifling. These barrel perks grant additional range, while the latter two grant additional stability. For magazine perks look for Accurized Rounds, but if you can’t find that look for Tactical Mag or Flared Magwell.
Surplus is a great neutral game perk that takes minimal effort to activate. Scathelocke can also roll with Subsistence, which is now usable with the Primary Ammo economy changes. For kill-based perks you are looking at either Tunnel Vision or Heating Up, which both can be useful in PvP. The other two perks in this column are Under Pressure and Threat Detector, but these are quite niche perks on this weapon.
Scathelocke can roll with three damage perks: Rampage, Mulitkill Clip, and Adrenaline Junkie. Each have their own merits and pair with specific builds. This Auto Rifle can also roll with Osmosis, which can be helpful perk in higher-end content to run all three elements.

Is Scathelocke any good?
Scathelocke is basically the kinetic version of Gnawing Hunger. It fires at the same speed and packs the same lethality. Scathelocke is definitely a weapon worth farming for, especially when Auto Rifle mods come back into rotation.
Scathelocke is a new world drop and drops from legendary engrams. It also has a chance to drop from Umbral Engrams as well as rank-up packages at Banshee-44.
