Best SWGOH early game Cantina farms for new players

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes has a lot going on between all the different game modes and their respective metas. It’s a daunting game that does little for its newcomers and early game players. Without a foundational knowledge of SWGOH, some players often waste time farming characters they’ll have little use for in the game. To help you avoid these blunders, in this guide we’ll check out the best Cantina farms for new SWGOH players.

SWGOH Cantina Farm 101 – Characters or Relics?

Relic characters are the endgame goal for all SWGOH players. They’re probably the most valuable farm in the game and can change PvP outcomes with their major stat influences at each Relic level. That said, new players should not worry about farming Relic pieces. Character shards are the very foundation of dominating in Grand Arena Championships, contributing to Territory Battles and Territory Wars, and progressing through Conquest. Min-max rosters are a fair strategy, but not a very fun or balanced one considering you’re using all your resources to get only one really good team, as opposed to a more well-rounded roster that would serve you better in the long run.

8-Energy Nodes (Cantina Tier 1-2)

Geonosian Soldier (Cantina 1-A) | Builds towards a Geonosian squad that’s useful from early to late game, and for the following activities: PvP, PvE, Ships, Conquest, Dark Side Territory Battles (TB), Territory Wars (TW), Padme Amidala Journey Guide (JG) Event.

Hera Syndulla (Cantina 1-F) | Phoenix Leader. A great early game character with Phoenix and Rebel tags. Only useful for early game content: Grand Admiral Thrawn JG Event, Emperor Palpatine JG Event.

Ezra Bridger (Cantina 2-B) | An Attacker with Phoenix, Rebel, and Jedi tags. Every early-game player should make Ezra Bridger one of their first Cantina farms. He has strong synergy with Hera Syndulla and Jedi teams and can later be used to unlock Grand Admiral Thrawn and Emperor Palpatine.

First Order Executioner (Cantina 2-G) | Heavy-hitting First Order (FO) Attacker that’s useful from early until end game. First Order Executioner excels in: PvP, PvE, Conquest, BB-8 JG Event, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren Galactic Legend JG Event.

10-Energy Nodes (Cantina Tier 3-4)

IG-100 MagnaGuard (Cantina 3-C) | Beefy Separatist Tank. IG-100 MagnaGuard Thrives under a General Grievous squad in all late-game content. There are tons of use in PvP, PvE, Conquest, Padme Amidala JG Event, and General Anakin Skywalker JG Event.

Kylo Ren (Unmasked) (Cantina 3-F) | Kyle Ren (Unmasked) is an essential FO Leader and Tank. This character alone can carry players from early game to endgame. He is useful for all the same reasons as First Order Executioner and adds value for having a stronger character kit.

Biggs Darklighter (Cantina 3-G) | Tanky Rebel Pilot. Biggs has one of the strongest ships among the Rebels. He used to be the meta character when SWGOH came out in 2016, but he has found his uses in Ships (PvP & PvE), Emperor Palpatine JG Event.

Mace Windu (Cantina 4-A) | Jedi Tank. Mace Windu was formerly useless, but a recent rework changed that. He will be a mainstay in Jedi lineups from early to the endgame. Mace Windu is also extremely valuable early-game as he pilots a Capital Ship.

Moff Gideon (Cantina 4-E) | Moff Gideon is a fearsome Support and Leader for the Empire and Imperial Troopers. Moff Gideon is a recent addition to SWGOH, and he packs a punch in almost every game mode.

12-Energy Nodes (Cantina Tier 5-6)

ARC Trooper (Cantina 5-G) | Clone Trooper and 501st Attacker with a summoned Blaster Turret. ARC Trooper is only used for Rex, Shaak Ti, or General Anakin Skywalker teams. This is a must-farm for all late-game content: General Anakin Skywalker JG Event and Light Side Territory Battles Special Events.

Kyle Katarn (Cantina 6-A) | Kyle Katarn is a ruthless Rebel and Jedi attacker with frequent out-of-turn attacks. Kyle Katarn was added with the recent Legacy characters to unlock the Starkiller JG Event. That goal isn’t achievable for early-game players, and it will be a long grind to get to use Kyle Katarn for that specific purposes. In the meantime, he’ll supercharge Mon Mothma Rebel teams, or any lineup of Jedi. His value is in versatility and damage.

B2 Super Battle Droid (Cantina 6-D) | A Separatist droid that inflicts mass debuffs and cleanses. The B2 Super Battle Droid is valuable for all the same reasons listed in the IG-100 Magnaguard entry above.

16-Energy Nodes (Cantina Tier 7-8)

Geonosian Brood Alpha (Cantina 8-D) | This SWGOH Cantina farm is the lifeblood of the Geonosian faction. Geonosian Brood Alpha is a powerful leader with an even more powerful summoned character who unleashes a flurry of devastating blows on the enemy. GBA is arguably the most valuable SWGOH character farm in the Cantina alongside Kylo Ren (Unmasked) and Relic Amplifier components.

Relic Amplifier Components (Cantina 8-C, 8-F, 8-G) | Relic Amplifier Components are essential to progressing Relic levels in SWGOH. Once these become available, most players quickly learn that they are the most important farm in the game. It might be tempting to dive hard into farming Relics, but avoid the temptation and continue to build a well-rounded roster of characters. It would be a different story if this guide was Best Cantina farms for late-game SWGOH players – then Relic Amplifier Components would be the whole article.

New players should use this guide as a recommendation for SWGOH Cantina farms rather than taking it for gospel. The more you evolve your character roster, the sooner you’ll find which teams work best for you and the goals you’re trying to achieve. If you’re feeling stuck, make sure to take a look at the library of SWGOH guides SQUAD has to help guide your next move in the game.
