Chroma Rush is the newest Rapid-Fire Frame auto rifle in Destiny 2. We have not had a new 720 RPM auto rifle since Artic Haze. The question is, will Chroma Rush make a suitable replacement to the recently sunset Steelfeather Repeater? Here are the perks and rolls you should look for on Chroma Rush in Destiny 2.
Perks and rolls
Rapid-Fire auto rifles desperately need as much range as they can get. This helps mitigate damage falloff, and makes them stronger at longer distances. Corkscrew Rifling and Arrowhead Brake are the best barrel perks. For magazine perks, look for Accurized Rounds or Tactical Mag.
Subsistence can be found in the first column, and it no longer hurts your ammo reserves. Feeding Frenzy is also present and helps mitigate reload times. Tunnel Vision should not be overlooked, as it can increase the aim assist on Chroma Rush even more.
This auto rifle can roll with either Rampage or Kill Clip, with each perk buffing damage. Pair Kill Clip with high reload speed, or use Rampage with large magazine sizes. Adrenaline Junkie can be underwhelming if you don’t have Discipline, or any lower tier enemies to kill.
Here are the perk combinations and god rolls you should look for on Chroma Rush in Destiny 2:
- Subsistence + Rampage – With Subsistence being buffed, it can be used without hurting your reserves. To extend the Rampage timer, throw on a Rampage Spec mod.
- Feeding Frenzy + Kill Clip – A classic perk combo that would only be better if it could roll with Multikill Clip.
Chroma Rush feels great in mid range and has an high base aim assist, making the gun very sticky. However, the kick and sway can throw off your aim if you don’t control the recoil. Chroma Rush drops from Override activities and Umbral Engrams.
