Cyberpunk 2077 complete gameplay guide – everything you need to know

2020 brought us a lot of games and perhaps the one that got the most hype was Cyberpunk 2077; today, I have prepared a complete gameplay guide for it.

For those of you still unacquainted with the game, Cyberpunk 2077 is a futuristic action game that takes place in a dystopian metropolis by the name of Night City. Night City is home of the wealthiest and most powerful people and so, naturally, it’s like a magnet for street gangs and other criminal elements.

There are eight gangs total and you’ll see them waging war with each other in every corner. As V, you will have to learn how to live in this chaotic city and make the best of each and every situation.

But if you are here, then you probably don’t want a history lesson, as you’ll figure it all out for yourself. You are here to learn how to play the game in the best possible way. For that very reason, I am sharing with you guys a complete gameplay guide for Cyberpunk 2077, to help you get the most out of the game.

Getting started

When you first start Cyberpunk 2077 , you will be given a lifepath choice: Nomad lifepath, Corporate lifepath or Street Kid. This choice will determine your background story and how you start off the game.

So first up on this gameplay guide for Cyberpunk 2077, I would advise you to learn all the advantages and disadvantages of each different lifepath, so you’ll make the right decision.

For beginners, I would highly suggest learning a bit more about each gang, the best weapons to use, the best body modifications, and so on.

Levelling up

Once you’ve chosen your favorite lifepath – or at least the one you think will make your life easier or more interesting – it’s time to learn about the levelling system in Cyberpunk 2077. As you’ll soon find out, the levelling system is split into two main categories: street cred and core level.

Levelling up your street cred will open up a lot of options when it comes to weapons, implants, gigs and even conversations. Simply put, the higher your street cred, the easier and more interesting your life will be.

As for the core levels, this refers to V’s attributes and skills. You will have 5 attributes: Body, Reflexes, Technical Ability, Intelligence and Cool. Within each attribute, you’ll have different skills to which you can apply skills points.

Getting rich

I started playing the game on the very day the it came out and I can tell you that getting rich is quite a challenge, especially in the beginning. Sure, you can stockpile a good amount of money, but then you realize you are weaker than your enemies, and so you head to a ripperdoc so they can install some expensive cyberware into your body, and boom… you’re poor again.

But don’t worry, I have put up a lot of effort and figured out the best ways for you to make money fast.

The best Cyberware

While we are on the subject of spending money on body modifications, I highly suggest you investigate, before making your purchases. Cyberware is expensive, and although all ripperdocs have interesting items that are better than the ones you already have (if you have any), most of them have Common or Uncommon items, and they cost a lot of money.

So my suggestion if that you focus on Legendary pieces of cyberware, which aren’t much more expensive than the Common ones, but are much better overall.

Fun side missions you should do

Believe it or not, Cyberpunk 2077 has some pretty interesting side quests and missions, and some of them provide not only good entertainment but also awesome rewards.

First I suggest you learn the difference between side missions, gigs, NCPD hustles and ride quests, and then move on to chasing the really fun and rewarding ones.

Ride or die… in style, of course

Cyberpunk 2077 has incredible vehicles for players to ride in, but for the most part, you will need to drop some serious coin to get them. If you are a rich Night City citizen, then get yourself an awesome vehicle and rock out through the streets.

And if you are a little on the poor side – welcome to the club! – then just know there are a bunch of free vehicles you can get that are totally awesome and only require doing a quest.

Freebies

Who loves free items? I love free items. We all love free items. So, on that note, I put up a list of awesome items you can get for free and with very little effort. These items are all Legendary, meaning there are mods you can add to them. Plus, if you feel they aren’t doing their job, you can upgrade them!

There you have it. With this gameplay guide for Cyberpunk 2077, I just know that you will do well in the game. Feel free to drop any new tips or suggestions in the comments below.
