Deafening Whisper review and best perks | Destiny 2

Deafening Whisper is the second Wave Frame grenade launcher to be added to Destiny 2. This grenade launcher sends forward a wave of energy when it contacts the ground. It has a different playstyle than other secondary grenade launchers in the game,  but it still packs a punch. Here are the best perks you should look for on Deafening Whisper in Destiny 2.

Perks and rolls

First column perks are fairly strong for a secondary grenade launcher. Lead to Gold is great for ammo economy, meaning you get Special ammo once you pick Heavy ammo. Ambitious Assassin is a great pickup because it allows you to get off two shots before having to reload. Killing Wind will always be a solid perk on any weapon.

Rampage is in the second perk column and is the only damage boosting perk on Deafening Whisper in Destiny 2. If you want to run a build that can spam grenades and melee abilities, then you want to pick up Wellspring. This will help you recharge your abilities when you get kills. Auto-Loading Holster is also a great perk to avoid reloading.

Here are the perk combinations and god rolls you should look for with Deafening Whisper:

  • Killing Wind + Rampage – This combo gives you a solid boost to movement speed, handling, range and damage when you get a kill.
  • Surplus + Wellspring – This is one of the best new perk combos to be added in Beyond Light. Surplus boosts your stats for each ability you have up and kills with Wellspring refund you ability energy.

Deafening Whisper is a strong grenade launcher. It has a different playstyle compared to other special ammo grenade launchers. Once you master this playstyle, Deafening Whisper becomes a strong energy weapon that is capable of tearing through rank and file enemies as well as orange health bar enemies.

Deafening Whisper can be farmed through Wrathborn Hunts and by turning in Recon Data to the Crow.
