Far Future is one of the new snipers which was added to Destiny 2 with Season of the Chosen. It fires at 90 RPM and is an Adaptive Frame. This is the same sniper archetype as Adored and Beloved. Here are the perks and rolls you should look for on the Far Future in Destiny 2.
Perks and rolls
Sniper barrel perks should always be geared towards handling and stability. Some great options are Fluted Barrel, Smallbore, and Arrowhead Brake. Magazine perks can vary from roll to roll, but generally anything that boosts magazine size or reload speed is wanted.
Surplus is the only reload boosting perk on Far Future. However this is reliant on having abilities up, so at times the buff will not be relevant. However, Auto-Loading Holster is available and it completely negates the need to reload. Both Quickdraw and Moving Target are in the first column – these perks are better suited for PvP.
The second column is full of kill based perks such as Wellspring, Demolitionist, Thresh, and Multikill Clip. None of these perks stand out above the rest, aside from Demolitionist which can be used to bypass reloads, and Multikill Clip which can be great for clearing lots of rank and file enemies. Frenzy is a great perk because the damage boost can activate even when the gun is not out.
Combos
Here are the perk combinations and god rolls you should look for on Far Future in Destiny 2:
- Quickdraw + Opening Shot – This combo is great for PvP. Quickdraw ensures that the weapon can be readied faster and Opening Shot increases the accuracy of the first shot.
- Auto-Loading Holster + Frenzy – These perks excel in PvE. Frenzy can be activated even when the weapon is not drawn, and gives a 20% boost. Auto-Loading means you don’t have to reload. Pair Frenzy with either Appended Mag or Tactical Mag with a Backup Mag mod to have 7 rounds.
Verdict
Far Future is a very snappy feeling sniper rifle. Although I haven’t done much PvP testing, it seems like it can compete with its sunset brother Beloved. I think that Far Future truly shines in PvE activities, where it can be used to break Barriers with an Anti-Barrier mod, and help in damage phases.
