Genshin Impact Ayaka Build Path – Weapons, Artifacts, teams

No need to give them the cold shoulder

Kamisato Ayaka – she’s elegant, she’s powerful, and she’s cold as all hell, but you’ll have to build her first if you want her to carry you throughout Genshin Impact.

Here are some of the artifact sets that you can use with Ayato:

  • Blizzard Strayer – 4
  • Blizzard Strayer – 2 + any +18% ATK set – 2
  • any +18% ATK set – 2 + any other +18% ATK set – 2
  • Blizzard Strayer – 2 + Noblesse Oblige – 2

Ayaka has quite a few different possible Artifact combinations – but don’t let that phase you. At the end of the day, she’s still just a straightforward DPS unit. A good four-piece Blizzard Strayer set is what you’ll be aiming for here. The two-piece bonus will net you a +15% bonus to Cryo DMG. The four-piece will increase your Crit Rate against Cryo-inflicted targets by 20%. If the opponent is frozen, your crit rate goes up an extra 20%. In the end, you stand to gain a boost of 40% to your Crit Rate and some weight on your conscience from all the murders you’ve just committed.

The following artifact sets have the 2-piece bonus that gives you the +18% ATK bonus you’re looking for:

  • Gladiator’s Finale
  • Shimenawa’s Reminiscence
  • Pale Flame
  • Vermillion Hereafter
  • Echoes of an Offering

Resolution of the Sojourner and Brave Heart also give the same ATK bonus but are limited to a rarity of 3-4 stars. Just don’t get them unless you absolutely have to for whatever reason. If you decide to go with the two-piece Noblesse Oblige set, you’ll be getting a nice little bonus of +20% damage with your Elemental Burst, which is kind of a big deal for Ayaka as a DPS unit.

Here are the Domains you need to visit for each set of Artifacts:

  • Blizzard Strayer – Peak of Vindagnyr
  • Gladiator’s Finale – Dropped by Normal and Weekly Bosses, Domain Reliquaries (Spiral Abyss) and can be exchanged in the Artifact Strongbox.
  • Shimenawa’s Reminiscence – Momiji-Dyed Court
  • Pale Flame – Ridge Watch
  • Vermillion Hereafter – The Lost Valley, Domain Reliquaries
  • Echoes of an Offering – The Lost Valley, Domain Reliquaries

Stats and swords

Stat-wise you’re looking at getting ATK% on your Sands, Cryo damage on your Goblet, and either Crit Damage or Crit Rate on your Circlet. As for your sub-stats; aim for  Crit Damage, ATK%, Energy Recharge, Crit Rate, or just flat attack.

As you’ve probably guessed, Ayaka likes to use some pretty fancy weaponry. As far as swords go, you’re aiming for Mistsplitter Reforged, Primordial Jade Cutter, Summit Shaper, Aquila Favonia, or Skyward Blade. For those of us who either can’t roll a weapon or don’t want to – feel free to use the Amenoma Kageuchi, Black Sword, Blackcliff Longsword, or Harbinger of Dawn (at refinement level five.)

Who to team up with

Ayaka likes to freeze things – crazy, right? As such, you’re looking at putting her in a permafrost comp. There are a few different combinations for this, so bear with me for a moment here. You can run Ayaka, Ganyu, Ayato, and Kokomi. Of course, that’s assuming you’re lucky or rich enough to have all of them. Alternatively, sub in Ganyu for Mona, Ayato for Diona, and Kokomi for Venti – Kazuha works too. Since all of Ayaka’s best team comps are basically just variations on permafrost, it just comes down to the characters you have or want to use. Get fancy with it, have some fun, and play around with different combinations!

Now you’re good to go! You’ve got the information – now go off and start farming those artifacts, weapons, and characters. Your brain may not thank you, but your characters will!
