Gridskipper best perks and review | Destiny 2

"No stars overhead. Best not to look up." — Amanda Holliday

Gridskipper is the newest pulse rifle in Destiny 2. It deals Void damage and fires at 540 RPM, making it a Rapid-Fire Frame. Here are the perks and rolls you should look for on Gridskipper in Destiny 2.

Perks and rolls

With Rapid-Fire Frame pulse rifles you want to maximize range and recoil control. The best two barrel perks are Arrowhead Brake and Corkscrew Rifling. For magazine perks, the best option is Ricochet Rounds for the added range and stability. High-Caliber Rounds and Armor-Piercing Rounds are also solid choices.

First column perks are nothing super exciting. Killing Wind and Tunnel Vision are going to be your best options, but they require a kill to get started. Heating Up could be a decent perk, but the recoil pattern is already super vertical.

Gridskipper has two great damage perk options in the second column. Frenzy requires no set up, but doesn’t have the same damage output potential as Multikill Clip. The only downside is that Multikill Clip needs three rapid kills to hit max damage. High-Impact Reserves would not be a bad choice with how quickly you can empty this pulse rifle’s magazine.

Here are the perk combinations and god rolls you should look for on Gridskipper in Destiny 2:

  • Killing Wind + Frenzy – This combo will get use in neutral game, and the damage buff from Frenzy will help  you get a kill to activate Killing Wind.
  • Tunnel Vision + Multikill Clip – Both of these perks activate after reload, making them strong in rapid kill scenarios.

Initially I didn’t plan on using this weapon due to it being a Rapid-Fire Frame. This type of weapons have historically been week in Destiny 2. However, Gridskipper exceeded my expectations. With the right combination of perks, this weapon has the potential to be strong in both PvP and PvE. Gridskipper drops from Override activities and Umbral Engrams.
