Statues are a new feature in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Statues can grant players a unique buff. This buff will increase the chances of specific types of Pokemon spawning in Pokemon Hideaways. Let’s see how you can improve the power of this effect.
Each statue you add to your base will add points to the statue’s effect. Whichever Pokemon type has the highest number of points will be the type chosen for the effect. This is because you can only increase the spawn chances of one Pokemon type at a time. So, how can you tell how many points you get per statue?
It is not necessary to know how many points you get exactly. You just need to know how the scoring system works. A Pokemon statue will give you points based on the typing of the Pokemon. The primary type of the Pokemon will always give more points than its secondary typing. For example, Charizard is a Fire Flying type, so it gives 48 points to Fire and 24 points to Flying.
The amount of points a statue gives also depends on which evolutionary stage the Pokemon is in. First and second stage evolutions give fewer points than third stage evolutions. Another factor is if the statue is Shiny or not. You only get Shiny Pokemon statues from Gorgeous Boxes, and they look green instead of grey.
Shiny Pokemon statues will give double the points that normal statues give. So if we look at our Charizard example again, a Shiny one would give 96 points to Fire and 48 points to Flying. If you wanted to boost your chances of finding Fire types then you would prioritize Shiny Fire Pokemon at any evolutionary stage, then third evolution normal statues.
The statues that give the most points by far are the legendary Pokemon statues. You obtain these by capturing legendary Pokemon in Ramanas Park. If the legendary Pokemon has two types, then it will give points in both categories. Again, the main typing will give more points than the secondary typing. If you want to know all the values for each statue, you can check out the full list.
Now, how can you tell how strong your total statue’s effect is? Well, if you interact with the orb at the front of your base, the game will tell you with the text and icons. If you look at the icon under Statue effect you will see there are one or more arrows on it.
With one arrow you will have text that says Slightly raises, with two arrows the text says Raises, and with three arrows the text says Sharply raises. If you want to know the exact numbers, slightly raises is 1-300 points, raises is 300-720 points, and sharply raises is 720+ points.
Be aware that statue effects will not force Pokemon to spawn in areas where they do not normally spawn. You still have to go to the correct biome to get the Pokemon you want. If you need help finding the spawn location of a Pokemon, check out the community resource on that.
With the one and two-arrow boost, you will not notice much of a difference. However, once you hit the sharply raises three arrow point, there will be a noticeable difference. You can use this statue effect to find an elusive Pokemon, or if you want to Shiny-hunt something rare. It is important to know that the statue effect has no impact on Shiny chances whatsoever.
This is how statues work in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. With them, you can hunt for specific Pokemon types much easier in the grand underground. I hope this guide has helped you out, and stay tuned for more Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl guides!
