Collei is not only one of the newest characters in Genshin Impact – but she is also one of the first Dendro characters in the game as well. This means there’s a whole new set of materials for you to farm for!
Here’s what Collei will need for her level ascension:
- 1 Nagadus Emerald Sliver
- 9 Nagadus Emerald Fragment
- 9 Nagadus Emerald Chunk
- 6 Nagadus Emerald Gemstone
- 18 Firm Arrowhead
- 30 Sharp Arrowhead
- 36 Weathered Arrowhead
- 168 Rukkhashava Mushrooms
- 46 Majestic Hooked Beak
- 420k Mora (it’s the weed meme)
It’s time to excavate some Emeralds
There are quite a few ways to farm for Nagadus Emerald shards. If you’re really looking to farm it all up as fast as possible, you better be prepared to crack some Fragile Resin and put a boss in the ground… or back in the ground, anyway. Only the Jadeplume Terrorshroom currently drops the Emeralds you’re looking for, so you’ll be focusing on just that.
Each Normal Boss claim runs you 40 Resin on redemption, so be prepared to either use up your Fragile Resin or wait a pretty long time. You’ll also have to leave the area for five minutes in order for the regular bosses to respawn. It’s a bit mundane, but that’s the price you pay when you play Genshin Impact.
Regularly, this is where I would say you can farm multiple bosses in a row, but that doesn’t apply here, so let’s move on. You can farm Emerald up all naturally over time or you can use an alchemy table to upgrade the Turquoise to its next tier. It takes three of the previous tier material to upgrade to the next one – this goes for all other materials that have multiple tiers as well.
Alternatively, you can spend some Dust of Azoth to convert any tier of a different gem into a Turquoise of the same tier. You could also get them with the Parametric Transformer if you use the right type of fuel.
Mushrooms, arrowheads, and… beaks?
Rukkhashava Mushrooms are native to the newly-unveiled nation of Sumeru and are found growing on trees in the Lokapala Jungle. It may help to employ some more vertically-oriented characters for this endeavor. I don’t mean tall characters, though that works too I suppose. I meant you should use the Geo-Construct users if you have them. Kazuha is also a really great unit for this kind of verticality as well.
There are a couple of other ways to get Rukkhashava Mushrooms. You can buy up to 10 every three days from two different merchants. Five can be bought from Aramani in Vanarana and Ashpazi in Gandharva Ville. While you’re in Gandharva Ville, chat with Farbod to get four mushrooms.
The Firm Arrowheads (and variations thereof) aren’t actually that hard to obtain, and you may already have way more than you need – which is great! If you don’t have enough, you’ll be running from point to point – smacking all variations of Hilichurl Shooters. You’re going to want to reference the Teyvat Interactive Map to find all the best Hilichurl hotspots.
Luckily, the Majestic Hooked Beaks you’re in search of are obtained from the same boss as your Nagadus Emerald shards! While you’re out there trying to salvage gems from a giant mutant mushroom, you’ll also be taking its beak. Which I suppose is actually quite morbid – but no more morbid than anything else you’re doing.
Talent upgrades will cost you a bit of extra time, but don’t worry about it – it’s all part of the process. Here’s what you’ll need for her talents.
- 9 Teachings of Praxis
- 63 Guides to Praxis
- 114 Philosophies of Praxis
- 18 Firm Arrowhead
- 66 Sharp Arrowhead
- 93 Weathered Arrowhead
- 18 Tears of the Calamitous God
- 3 Crowns of Insight (one to max-level each Talent if that’s what you’re going for)
- 4,957,500 Mora – I wish you were reading that wrong, I really do.
Anyway, your Arrowhead pile will have to equal 36 Firm Arrowheads, 96 Sharp Arrowheads, and 129 Weathered Arrowheads. You may want to consider joining a friend or a stranger for this as well. You may as well bring an ally along to make a fast task faster, right?
Praxis talent books can be farmed in the new Steeple of Ignorance domain on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. These can be upgraded in the same way as all of the previously listed materials at a ratio of three to one. The Alchemist’s Crafting Bench is a great tool that you should all be taking advantage of, trust me!
Tears of the Calamitous God – which is kind of intense
There are two ways to get Tears of the Calamitous God. The first way to get them is by doing the Weekly Boss fight – End of the Oneric Euthymia. The second way to get the Tears is actually just by beating that weekly boss fight anyway – then converting them with Dream Solvent. Those are really the only ways to go about this, unfortunately.
If you so choose, you can convert the other two possible drops – Mudra of the Maleific General and The Meaning of Aeons – into Tears of the Calamitous God by using Dream Solvent. You get Dream Solvent by redeeming Weekly Boss prizes anyway, so don’t skip out on completing your weeklies. These materials are important regardless but are even more useful now that you can use Dream Solvent on them. The conversion rate on these materials is one-to-one, so you better hope you’ve been hoarding materials and Solvent.
Topple the monarchies, seize the crowns
The last item you need is just a little bit harder to come across. Crowns – as you could probably guess from the name – are precious and hard to come by. Crowns of Insight are currently limited to two methods of obtainment. Both methods can be fairly slow in their own right, but one is more consistent than the other and is available at all times.
You can get Crowns of Insight by hitting certain level milestones with the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma and the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspine. The only other way to earn Crowns is through certain limited-time in-game events. So be sure to keep up with Genshin events and keep those Crowns stocked up and available to avoid any problems in the future.
Genshin Impact has endless opportunities to grind like this, and Collei’s farming period will definitely not be the last time you have to do it – but hopefully, this guide speeds up the process for you.
