Here’s how to farm for Kamisato Ayato – Head of the Kamisato Clan, brother of Ayaka, and the newest object of obsession for Genshin Impact simps everywhere – before his release.
Kamisato Ayato level up farm
Here’s what Ayato will need for his level ascension:
- 1 Varunada Lazurite Sliver
- 9 Varunada Lazurite Fragments
- 9 Varunada Lazurite Chunks
- 6 Varunada Lazurite Gemstones
- 18 Old Handguards
- 30 Kageguchi Handguards
- 36 Famed Handguards
- 168 Sakura Bloom
- 46 Dew of Repudiation
- 420k Mora (the funny plant number)
Fun fact: Lazurite is the main mineral in the gemstone lapis lazuli.
*Potential spoilers ahead* Varunada Lazurite and its various shard sizes are dropped by six different bosses. Three Weekly Boss fights drop Lazurite: Beneath the Dragon-Queller, Confront Stormterror, and Enter the Golden House. Since they’re Weekly Bosses, you can’t farm them over and over again – I just wanted to let you know that those fights give you a chance at getting some. For efficient farming, you’ll want to start farming the Hydro Hypostasis, Primo Geovishap, and Rhodeia of Loch – aka the Oceanid.
For farming purposes, you’ll be looking at a long and arduous grind against the water-based bosses of Genshin Impact. Making a route between them and beating them over and over in order would be the fastest way to get the gems you need – but there are a couple of alternatives to consider.
The Hydro Hypostasis drops the Dew of Repudiation that you need as well actually. If you wanted to be more efficient, you could just fight that over and over again for both your dew and shards. It takes a little longer since you’ll need to wait three minutes between each respawn, but the efficiency more than makes up for it. Remember that you can use an Alchemy table to upgrade your gems to the next tier up as well. Three of the previous gem tier can be used to make one gem of the next tier up. These little upgrades will definitely save you some time. This goes for any other material with multiple tiers as well, so make use of it. You can also use Dust of Azoth to convert one gem piece into a different gem of the same tier.
I hope you also brought a big sword. The Handguards you’re after might be a bit more of an annoyance going forward. You’re going to be looking for those Ronin groups roaming Inazuma consisting of Nobushi and Kairagi. The Nobushi are easy enough, and you should make quick work of them. The difficulty comes from dealing with the element-harnessing Kairagi. There are two to deal with – Dancing Thunder and Fiery Might, with – you guessed it – Electro and Pyro respectively. The problem stems from those groups where there are two together. When you beat one, the other powers up and heals if you’re not fast enough to take them down. I find that staggering them constantly will keep them from executing the animation, which could save you a bit of time and patience. You can find these guys all over Inazuma and can track their exact locations using this Teyvat Interactive Map as well.
The 168 Sakura Blooms are easy enough to get, if not somewhat annoying and time-consuming. These are found all over Narukami Island in a cluster of pink flowers and mist. Simply hit these with an Electro attack or ability to render them available for harvest. You may need to borrow some from your friends if you’re looking to speed this process up. Be sure to consult the map to get them all and bring someone with low cooldowns… or just bring Yae Miko or something.
Your farming isn’t over yet and Ayato still requires more materials so you can level up his talents. Here’s what you’re looking for this time:
- 9 Teachings of Elegance
- 63 Guides to Elegance
- 114 Philosophies of Elegance
- 18 Old Handguards
- 66 Kageuchi Handguards
- 93 Famed Handguards
- 18 Mudras of the Malefic General
- 3 Crowns of Insight (one to max-level each Talent)
- 4,957,500 Mora – …yeah
You read that right. You’ll need even more Handguards to get Ayato to battle-ready status. I should have set the expectation at the beginning of this guide, my bad.
Your Handguard haul comes out to 36 Old Handguards, 96 Kageuchi Handguards, and 129 Famed Handguards. You may want to consider joining a friend or a stranger for this as well. May as well bring an ally along to even the playing field a little bit. The Elegance Talent books can be farmed in the Violet Court domain on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. These can be upgraded in the same way as all of the previously listed materials at a ratio of three to one. The Alchemist’s Crafting Bench is your friend, people.
Now for the “special” materials
*Potential spoilers ahead* There are two ways to get these special materials. The first way to get Mudras of the Malefic General is by doing the Weekly Boss fight – End of the Oneiric Euthymia. The second way to get these Mudras is actually just by doing that Weekly Boss fight anyway – then converting them. Sorry, I’d give you a way to skip it entirely if you could, but at least you can enjoy the music – in an intense, fear-for-your-life kind of way.
If you so choose, you can convert the other two possible drops – Tears of the Calamitous God and The Meaning of Aeons – into Mudras of the Malefic General by using Dream Solvent. You get Dream Solvent by redeeming Weekly Boss prizes anyway, so don’t skip out on completing your weeklies. These materials are important regardless but are even more useful now that you can use Dream Solvent on them. The conversion rate on these materials is one-to-one, so you better hope you’ve been hoarding materials and Solvent.
The last item you need will be a little more on the scarce side. Crowns – as their name tends to imply contextually – are precious and hard to come by. Crowns of Insight are currently limited to two methods of obtainment. Both methods can be fairly slow in their own right, but one is more consistent than the other at least. The main way you can get Crowns of Insight is through hitting certain level milestones with the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma and the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspine. The only other way to get them is through certain limited-time in-game events. So be sure to keep up with the events in Genshin… You don’t want to run dry of those when you really need one.
Ayato build is currently TBD
Ayato isn’t quite out yet at the time of writing this, but he’s coming soon. Once he’s out, you can expect a quick build run-down to be linked here. We’ll also be mentioning where to farm for those artifacts as well so you’ll know what to do and where to go.
It would be pretty cool if you paired him up with his sister.
What would be better than one Kamisato clan member in your team? Two Kamisato clan members in your team. Ayato will pair well with Ayaka based on their Water and Ice elements on their own. You also get the bonus of being lore-accurate, if you’re into that.
Good luck with your rolls, and may every 10-pull bring you luck and joy. They probably won’t, though. Sorry to be that guy. Good luck regardless!
