Deputy of the Arataki Gang and Itto’s right hand, Kuki Shinobu is not only a ninja but also an Electro ninja – which makes her much cooler. Her badassness aside, she’s only effective in combat when farmed properly – which is where this guide comes in.
Here’s what Kuki Shinobu will need for her level ascension:
- 1 Vajrada Amethyst Sliver
- 9 Vajrada Amethyst Fragments
- 9 Vajrada Amethyst Chunks
- 6 Vajrada Amethyst Gemstones
- 18 Spectral Husks
- 30 Spectral Hearts
- 36 Spectral Nuclei
- 168 Naku Weed
- 46 Runic Fangs
- 420k Mora (I’m sure you get the joke by now)

There are a few different ways to acquire your Vajrada Amethyst pieces. If you’re aiming to farm all your shards up as quickly and efficiently as possible, you’ll have to start using Fragile Resin. Ten bosses drop the Amethyst pieces you’re looking for. There’s an even split of five regular World Bosses and five special Weekly Bosses for you to contend with.
The five Weekly Boss fights you’ll need to beat for your shards are: Confront Stormterror, Beneath the Dragon-Queller, Enter the Golden House, End of the Oneiric Euthymia, and Joururi Workshop. For consistent farming, you’ll be looking at challenging the Coral Defenders, Electro Hypostasis, Thunder Manifestation, Electro Regisvine, and that accursed Primo Geovishap.
Each Normal Boss fight costs 40 Resin on redemption, with each Weekly Boss costing 60 Resin. Be prepared to either use up your Fragile Resin or wait a while for the Resin to regenerate. You’ll also have to leave the area for five minutes in order for the regular bosses to respawn – it’s a bit mundane, but that’s just the Gacha Life, I suppose.
If you wanted to be extra efficient with your task, you can go from boss to boss in order so that by the time you finish one, the other one(s) will respawn. If you want, you can make a route between them, doing them over and over again in order. You can farm it up all naturally over time or you can use an alchemy table to upgrade the Turquoise to its next tier. It takes three of the previous tier material to upgrade to the next one – this goes for all other materials that have multiple tiers as well.
Alternatively, you can spend some Dust of Azoth to convert any tier of a different gem into an Amethyst of the same tier. You could also get them with the Parametric Transformer if you use the right type of fuel.
Specters, weeds, and fangs
Spectral Husks, Hearts, and Nuclei are obtained by killing Specters. I don’t really know if killing is the right term, but we don’t have time to get into that right now. Specters are those little floating balls with an eye in the middle which are kind of hard to miss. There is a Specter for each element – similar to Slimes – so plan accordingly when going into a fight with them. Specters are found on Watatsumi Island, Seirei Island, and Tsurumi Island. You can use this Teyvat Interactive Map to find their exact locations and track them.
Naku Weeds are found anywhere that you can also find a high concentration of Electro – which means you’re taking a nice day trip to Inazuma. Particularly high concentrations of Naku Weeds can be found on Seirai Island, around Mikage Furnace, and around Mt. Yougou
You’re going to have to keep cracking that Fragile Resin if you’re farming up all your Runic Fangs at once. The fangs are only obtainable through the Ruin Serpent in Liyue. Unfortunately, the Ruin Serpent is also locked behind the World Quest – Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering, so it’ll take a bit of extra work to start farming fangs if you’re not already caught up.
Talent upgrades will cost you a bit of extra time, but don’t worry about it – it’s all part of the process. Here’s what you’ll need for his talents.
- 9 Teachings of Elegance
- 63 Guides to Elegance
- 114 Philosophies of Elegance
- 18 Spectral Husks
- 66 Spectral Hearts
- 93 Spectral Nuclei
- 18 Tears of the Calamitous God
- 3 Crowns of Insight (one to max-level each Talent if you’re going for that)
- 4,957,500 Mora – Sometimes that’s just how it is, y’know?
I’ve got some bad news: if you hate fighting the Spectres… you’ll have to keep doing it. The total amount of Spectral-bits you need will end up being 36 Spectral Husks, 96 Spectral Hearts, and 129 Spectral Nuclei, which hopefully doesn’t take you too much longer to farm.
The Elegance Talent books can be farmed in the Violet Court domain on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. These can be upgraded in the same way as all of the previously listed materials at a ratio of three to one. The Alchemist’s Crafting Bench is your friend, people – take advantage!
Tears of the Calamitous God – edgy isn’t it?
There are two ways to get Tears of the Calamitous God. The first way to get them is by doing the Weekly Boss fight – End of the Oneiric Euthymia. The second way to get the Tears is actually just by beating that weekly boss fight anyway – then converting them with Dream Solvent. Those are really the only ways to go about this, unfortunately.
If you so choose, you can convert the other two possible drops – Mudra of the Malefic General and The Meaning of Aeons – into Tears of the Calamitous God by using Dream Solvent. You get Dream Solvent by redeeming Weekly Boss prizes anyway, so don’t skip out on completing your weeklies. These materials are important regardless but are even more useful now that you can use Dream Solvent on them. The conversion rate on these materials is one-to-one, so you better hope you’ve been hoarding materials and Solvent.
Topple the monarchies and take their crowns
The last item you need is a little harder to come across. Crowns – as you could probably guess from the name – are precious and hard to come by. Crowns of Insight are currently limited to two methods of obtainment – both of which take time. Both methods can be fairly slow in their own right, but one is more consistent than the other and is available at all times. The main way you can get Crowns of Insight is by hitting certain level milestones with the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma and the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspine. The only other way to get them is through certain limited-time in-game events. So be sure to keep up with Genshin events – keep that Crown stock up and you won’t have any problems.
Genshin Impact has endless opportunities to farm materials, and Kuki Shinobu won’t be the last time you have to do it – but hopefully, this guide speeds up the process for you. Enjoy your new Electro-ninja, and have fun with all the wind and alchemy!
