How to farm for Noelle in Genshin Impact

Train hard, farm harder

Noelle may not be a Knight of Favonius as of yet, but if she wants to get there, you’ll have to help her farm up and ascend to battle-ready status in Genshin Impact. Let’s get started on the grind!

Here is everything Noelle will need for her level ascension:

Boss runs and materials

Prithiva Topaz and all its various pieces are dropped by seven different bosses. Two Weekly Boss fights drop them: Beneath the Dragon-Queller, and Wolf of the North Challenge. These being Weekly Bosses, you can’t farm them over and over again – I just wanted to let you know that there’s a chance you’ll get some there. For farming purposes, you’ll want to go after the Geo Hypostasis, Golden Wolflord, Perpetual Mechanical Array, Ruin Serpent, and that damned Primo Geovishap.

You can also get some shards from the Parametric Transformer if you use the right materials, and you may get some from Commission rewards as well. Shards are also purchasable from both Marjorie and Xingxi in Mondstadt and Liyue respectively with either Anemo or Geo Sigils. I should mention though that their inventories are expendable and will not restock gem shards.

For farming purposes, you’ll be looking at fighting each boss over and over – but that’s a given. Each Normal Boss run will run you 40 Resin on redemption, with Weekly Bosses costing 60 Resin (30 Resin for the first three redemptions). You should be prepared to either use up your Fragile Resin or wait a really long time. In the spirit of efficiency, you can go between bosses so by the time you finish one, the other one will respawn.

If you want, you can make a route between them, doing them repeatedly in order.  You can farm it up all naturally over time or you can use an alchemy table to upgrade the Topaz to its next tier. It takes three of the previous tier material to upgrade to the next one – this goes for other materials with multiple tiers as well.

Masks, berries, and pillars

By now, you’re likely quite familiar with the Hilichurls and their various masks. Chances are you may already have the masks you’re looking for. If not, then you’ll have to go around and decimate their little camps, again and again, you monster. Hilichurls are found all over every region in Teyvat, but you can use the Interactive Map to make tracking these guys down easier. I didn’t say we weren’t all monsters, I was just singling you out in particular. You can find these guys all over Teyvat and can track their exact locations using this Teyvat Interactive Map as well.

The Valberries are easy enough to gather, if not a little tedious considering the fact you need almost 200 of them. These berries are found in Mondstadt – particularly around the Stormbearer Mountains and Stormbearer Point. If you don’t particularly want to venture to a place with such an ominous and threatening name, you can buy them from Chloris! She can sell you five berries every three days for 1000 Mora a pop. If you’re feeling particularly agricultural, you can also plant Valberry Seeds in your Serinitea Pot’s gardening plots.

You’re going to have to keep cracking that Fragile Resin if you’re farming up all your Basalt Pillars at once. The Pillars are only obtainable through the Geo Hypostasis in Liyue. The good news is that the Geo Hypostasis also drops the Prithiva Topaz shards you need.

If you wanted to be more efficient in your farming, you could just fight that over and over again. This would provide not only the Basalt Pillars you need, but it would also give you some Topaz shards for each run. It takes a little longer since you’ll need to wait three minutes between each respawn, but the efficiency more than makes up for it.

Talent upgrades

Unfortunately for you, Mask farming doesn’t end there. You’ll need to keep farming for quite a while if you’re looking to level up her Talents as well. I could have warned you earlier, that’s on me.

  • 9 Teachings of Resistance
    • 63 Guides to Resistance
    • 114 Philosophies of Resistance
  • 18 Damaged Masks
    • 66 Stained Masks
    • 93 Ominous Masks
  • 18 Dvalin’s Claws
  • 3 Crowns of Insight (one to max-level each Talent if you’re going for that)
  • 4,957,500 Mora – there was probably a better way to break this news to you, sorry.

Anyway, your Insignia total amounts to 36 Damaged Masks, 96 Stained Masks, and 129 Ominous Masks. You may want to consider joining a friend or a stranger for this as well. You may as well bring an ally along to speed up your farming process right?

Resistance talent books can be farmed in the Forsaken Rift domain on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. These can be upgraded in the same way as all of the previously listed materials at a ratio of three to one. The Alchemist’s Crafting Bench is a great tool that you should all be taking advantage of!

Now for the Claws

I know that mentioning Dvalin’s Claw is technically a spoiler, but you probably aren’t at a point where you can farm Noelle if you don’t know who Dvalin is. Because of that, I’m just not going to count it as a spoiler.

There are two ways to get Dvalin’s Claws. The first way to get them is by doing the Weekly Boss fight – Stormterror Challenge. The second way to get these claws is actually just by beating that weekly boss fight anyway – then converting the alternate drops into claws with Dream Solvent. That’s really the only way to go about this; sorry if I mislead you. On the bright side, you’ve likely gotten so used to this fight that it doesn’t phase you anymore. That, or you’ve been playing for a while and don’t even need to actually farm any.

The Dream Solvent is going to save you a lot of time if you didn’t already have what you needed. Ever since Dream Solvent came out and gave us the ability to convert Weekly Boss materials, farming them has been way easier. Never skip out on your weeklies folks, you never know what you’ll need and when you’ll need it. Well, you might if you came here first, but that’s beside the point.

It’s time for the Crowns

The last item you need is just a tad bit more on the scarce side of the resource pool. Crowns – as their context, purpose, and use cases usually entail – are precious and hard to come by. Crowns of Insight are currently limited to only two methods of obtainment – both of which take time, with only one being reliable. Both methods can be fairly slow in their own right, but one is at least more consistent than the other and is available at all times.

The main way you can get Crowns of Insight in Genshin Impact is through hitting certain level milestones with the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma and the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspine. The only other way to get them is through certain limited-time in-game events. So be sure to keep up with the events in Genshin Impact. You don’t want to run dry of those when you really need one, since you won’t be able to easily procure them.

Now you’ve got everything you need to help Noelle become a knight in Genshin Impact, all that’s left is to actually farm it all… the grind never ends for a knight I suppose.
