Sucrose may be a starter 4-Star character in Genshin Impact, but that doesn’t mean this Anemo alchemist can’t become an integral part of your teams – provided you farm and ascend her properly that is. Let’s get you started!
Here’s what Sucrose will need for her level ascension:
- 1 Vayuda Turquoise Sliver
- 9 Vayuda Turquoise Fragment
- 9 Vayuda Turquoise Chunks
- 6 Vayuda Turquoise Gemstones
- 18 Whopperflower Nectar
- 30 Shimmering Nectar
- 36 Energy Nectar
- 168 Windwheel Aster
- 46 Hurricane Seeds
- 420k Mora (blaze it, or something.)
So anyway, I started clicking
There are quite a few ways to farm for Vayuda Turquoise shards. If you’re really looking to farm it all up as fast as possible, then prepare to crack some Fragile Resin and put some bosses in their place. Three bosses drop Vayuda Turquoise pieces – two Normal Bosses and one Weekly Boss. The Anemo Hypostasis and Maguu Kenki are the regular bosses you’ll be hunting down. The weekly fight you’ll have to do (quite a few times) is Confront Stormterror.
Each Normal Boss run will run you 40 Resin on redemption, with each Weekly Boss costing 60 Resin. Be prepared to either use up your Fragile Resin or wait a pretty long time. You’ll also have to leave the area for three minutes in order for the regular bosses to respawn – it’s a bit mundane, but you should have known it would be like this when you started playing Genshin Impact. It’s a Gacha Game, I don’t know what you expected to be honest.
If you wanted to be extra efficient with your task, you can go from boss to boss in order so that by the time you finish one, the other one(s) will respawn. If you want, you can make a route between them, doing them over and over again in order. You can farm it up all naturally over time or you can use an alchemy table to upgrade the Turquoise to its next tier. It takes three of the previous tier material to upgrade to the next one – this goes for all other materials that have multiple tiers as well.
Alternatively, you can spend some Dust of Azoth to convert any tier of a different gem into a Turquoise of the same tier. You could also get them with the Parametric Transformer if you use the right type of fuel.
Such cute flowers
The Windwheel Asters are actually pretty easy to grab. These cute little pinwheel flowers are predominantly found around Mondstadt in Stormterror’s Lair, and Windrise. You can also find some around the Statues of the Seven at Dawn Winery and Starfell Lake. You can also buy five every three days from Flora in Mondstadt for 1000 Mora per flower. If you’re having trouble finding flowers, take a look at the Teyvat Interactive Map so you can harvest every last one. You likely won’t be able to get enough from just farming in your world – so you can join some friends if you’re really strapped for flowers.
The Nectar isn’t fun to obtain, but it is definitely easier if you have the right elements on your team. You get these nice little vials from the Whopperflowers pretty much anywhere on the map. All Whopperflowers will have an element though, so if you can, you should bring a counter element. That, or you could just bring your best damage dealer and brute force it. Be sure to use the aforementioned Interactive Map in order to track them all down.
Those Hurricane Seeds you need are obtained from beating the Anemo Hypostasis. Honestly, if you were willing to sacrifice some time and Fragile Resin, you could just fight the Hypostasis repeatedly. It would take you three minutes between each clear, but it would also be more effective than doing a boss route as you’d be getting multiple required materials at the same time.
Talent upgrades will cost you a bit of extra time, but don’t worry about it – it’s all part of the process. Here’s what you’ll need for her talents.
- 9 Teachings of Freedom
- 63 Guides to Freedom
- 114 Philosophies of Freedom
- 18 Whopperflower Nectar
- 66 Shimmering Nectar
- 93 Energy Nectar
- 18 Spirit Lockets of Boreas
- 3 Crowns of Insight (one to max-level each Talent if you’re going for that)
- 4,957,500 Mora – I was going to try breaking this to you slowly, but I couldn’t..
Anyway, your Nectar total comes out to 36 Whopperflower Nectar, 96 Shimmering Nectar, and 129 Energy Nectar. If you didn’t hate the Whopperflowers yet, you might after this. The Freedom talent books can be obtained from the Forsaken Rift Domain on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays. These can be upgraded in the same way as all of the previously listed materials at a ratio of three to one. The Alchemist’s Crafting Bench is your friend, always take advantage of your friends! I know what I said, but you know what I meant.
Now for the lockets
I know that mentioning Spirit Lockets is technically a spoiler, but you’ll see this part of the story unfold pretty early on. Because of that, I’m just not going to count it as a spoiler – it’s still an epic fight regardless.
There are two ways to get Spirit Lockets. The first way to get them is by doing the Weekly Boss fight – Wolf of the North Challenge. The second way to get these lockets is actually just by beating that weekly boss fight anyway – then converting the alternate drops into lockets with Dream Solvent. That’s really the only way to go about this, sorry if I mislead you but I would give you other solutions if I could.
The Dream Solvent is going to save you a lot of time if you didn’t already have what you needed. Ever since Dream Solvent came out and gave us the ability to convert Weekly Boss materials, farming them has been way easier. That just goes to show you – never skip out on your weeklies. You never know what you’ll need and when you’ll need it. Unless you came here first, in which case you actually would know exactly what you need.
Topple the monarchies
The last item you need is just a little bit harder to come across. Crowns – as you could probably guess from the name – are precious and hard to come by. Crowns of Insight are currently limited to two methods of obtainment, both of which take time. Both methods can be fairly slow in their own right, but one is more consistent than the other and is available at all times.
The main way you can get Crowns of Insight is through hitting certain level milestones with the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma and the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspine. The only other way to get them is through certain limited-time in-game events. So be sure to keep up with Genshin events and keep those Crowns stocked up and available to avoid any problems in the future.
Genshin Impact has endless opportunities to farm materials, and Sucrose will not be the last time you have to do it – but hopefully, this guide speeds up the process for you. Enjoy your new Sucrose, and have fun with all the wind and alchemy!
