How to farm for Venti in Genshin Impact

The Tone Deaf Windboi

In this guide, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know on how to farm for Venti – the (perpetually drunk) Tone Deaf Bard. Venti also just so happens to be a [REDACTED] in Genshin Impact.

Here’s what Venti will need for his level ascension:

*Bosses and Potential spoilers ahead*

Vayuda Turquoise and its various shard sizes are dropped by only three bosses. Confront Stormterror is the Weekly Boss that you can beat for your shards if you’d like. It may not be repeatable in a short span of time, but it gives you something at least. For efficient farming, you’ll want to start prepping for multiple fights against both the Anemo Hypostasis and the Maguu Kenki. Between you and me, the Anemo Hypostasis is the easier takedown between the two.

For farming purposes, you’ll be looking at a long and tedious grind against the Anemo-based bosses of Genshin Impact. Making a route between them and beating them into nothing over and over in order would be the fastest way to get the gems you need. That said, there are a couple of alternatives to consider.

The Anemo Hypostasis actually drops the Hurricane Seeds that you’ll need as well. If you wanted to be more efficient, you could just fight that over and over again for both your dew and shards. It takes a little longer since you’ll need to wait three minutes between each respawn, but it’s still worth it for efficiencies’ sake. I mean, you’ll have to fight the Anemo Hypostasis one way or another right?

Slimes, flowers, and easier gems

Keep in mind that you can also use an Alchemy table to upgrade your gems to the next tier up. Three of the previous gem tier can be used to make one gem of the next tier up. These little upgrades will definitely save you some time. This goes for any other material with multiple tiers as well, so make use of it. You can also use Dust of Azoth to convert one gem piece into a different gem of the same tier. Have an abundance of Lazurite after farming Ayato? No problem! Take them to your nearest Alchemy station and get to converting!

Genshin Impact Alchemy Table

Now we’re trading in difficulty for tedium. The Slime Condensate you’re after is not even remotely difficult to attain. It just means you’ll be running from point to point – smacking various elemental slimes for their various… liquids. You’re going to want to reference the Teyvat Interactive Map to find all best the Slime hotspots. A bunch of them will just pop out at you one way or another if you just run around though.

The 168 Cecilias are easy enough to get, as all you have to do is run around collecting flowers. It helps that these usually grow on Starsnatch Cliff – one of many picturesque locations.  You can also buy five of them from Flora in Monstadt every three days – which is convenient. Also, remember to plant some in your Serenitea Pot. You need 168 of these, you’ll have to speed up the process somehow. You may need to borrow some from your friends as well – just make sure they don’t try to sabotage you by taking the flowers. Be sure to consult the map to get them all as they can be fairly spread out along the cliff.

Talent upgrades

Your farming isn’t over yet and Venti still requires more materials so you can level up his talents. Here’s what you’re looking for this time around:

  • 9 Teachings of Ballad
    • 63 Guides to Ballad
    • 114 Philosophies of Ballad
  • 18 Slime Condensate
    • 66 Slime Secretions
    • 93 Slime Concentrate
  • 18 Tails of Boreas
  • 3 Crowns of Insight (one to max-level each Talent)
  • 4,957,500 Mora – sorry Chief.

You’re not delirious, you will in fact need more Mora and Slime than you previously thought, and you know what? You signed up for this. Plus, by now you probably have a lot of Slime stuff anyway – so your only problem would be the Mora – I hope.

Anyway, your Slime savings will have to equal 36 Slime Condensate, 96 Slime Secretions, and 129 Slime Concentrate. I honestly made it sound worse than it was, but hey aren’t you relieved now? You may want to consider joining a friend or a stranger for this as well. May as well bring an ally along to make a fast task faster, right?

The Ballad Talent books can be farmed in the Forsaken Rift domain on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. These can be upgraded in the same way as all of the previously listed materials at a ratio of three to one. The Alchemist’s Crafting Bench is your friend, and you will take advantage of them accordingly, you greedy bastard you.

Now for the “special” materials

*Spoilers for the Monstadt Archon questline* There are two ways to get these special materials. The first way to get the Tail of Boreas is by doing the Weekly Boss fight – Wolf of the North Challenge. The second way to get these Tails is actually just by doing that Weekly Boss fight anyway – then converting them with Dream Solvent. Sorry, I’d give you a way to skip it entirely if I could, but at least you can enjoy the ambiance of fighting a massive wolf god – while he tries to “test” you. Test, as in straight up beat your ass, that is.

If you so choose, you can convert the other two possible drops – Ring of Boreas and Spirit Locket of Boreas – into Tails of Boreas using Dream Solvent. You get Dream Solvent by redeeming Weekly Boss prizes anyway, so don’t skip out on completing your Weekly Boss battles. These materials are important regardless but are even more useful now that you can use Dream Solvent on them. The conversion rate on these materials is one-to-one, so you better have been hoarding materials and Solvent this whole time.

Genshin Impact Crown of Insight

The last item you need will be a little more on the scarce side. Crowns – as their name tends to imply contextually – are precious and hard to come by. Crowns of Insight are currently limited to two methods of obtainment. Both methods can be fairly slow in their own right, but one is more consistent than the other at least. The main way you can get Crowns of Insight is through hitting certain level milestones with the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma and the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspine. The only other way to get them is through certain limited-time in-game events. So be sure to keep up with the events in Genshin Impact… You don’t want to run dry of those when you really need one.

Good luck with your rolls, and may every 10-pull bring you luck and joy. They probably won’t, though. Sorry to be that guy. Good luck regardless!
