How to farm for Yun Jin in Genshin Impact

More Geo characters...

Yay, there are more characters in Genshin Impact! Not yay: now you need to farm their materials. Yun Jin is one of these new Genshin characters, so let’s get started on that farm.

Here’s what Yun Jin will need for her level ascension:

If you’re coming from my last couple of Genshin Impact farming guides then you’ll know how to handle the Prithiva Topaz. For the sake of being thorough though, let’s do it again.

You can get Prithiva Topaz by knocking out the Geo Hypostasis an almost ungodly amount of times. Each beatdown will cost 40 Resin and you’ll have to leave the area for 3 minutes for it to respawn. You can farm it up all naturally or you can use an alchemy table to upgrade the Topaz to its next tier. It takes three of the previous tier material to upgrade to the next one – this goes for other materials with multiple tiers as well. Alternatively, you can use Dust of Azoth to convert any tier of a different gem into a Topaz of the same tier.

I would hope by now that you have a bunch of Masks lying around. Judging by the amount of Hilichurls you would have had to defeat at any given point, you’ll more than likely have these already. In case you need to go farming for Masks though, I would just start hunting for Hilichurl camps.

If you’re (somehow) having trouble finding Hilichurls, there’s a Genshin Interactive Map that you can use to find and keep track of some Hilichurl camps. Does this method equate to committing premeditated mass murder? Yes. Will you do it anyway despite the moral implications? Absolutely.

The Glaze Lillies are a bit harder in my opinion. You can, and should, use the same interactive map in order to find these ones. Glaze Lillies are found around Liyue – specifically in Liyue Harbor and Qingce Village. In case you’ve temporarily run out in your own world, you can join a friend and take theirs. If they won’t let you in though, you can always buy some from Ms.Bai in Qingce Village. It won’t be cheap, but you can buy three Lillies from her for 50k each, every three days.

And here’s what you’ll be farming for Talent upgrades:

  • 9 Teachings of Diligence
  • 63 Guides to Diligence
  • 114 Philosophies of Diligence
  • 18 Damaged Masks
    • 66 Stained Masks
    • 93 Ominous Masks
  • 18 Ashen Hearts
  • 3 Crowns of Insight (if you choose to max level each talent)
  • 4,957,500 Mora. No, you didn’t read that wrong.

Yeah, you can probably already tell by now but it’s going to take you a lot of masks in order to upgrade Yun-Jin. Luckily, Hilichurls aren’t that hard to deal with, and they’re abundant throughout Teyvat. Unluckily, you still have to hunt them down.

This brings the grand total to 36 Damaged Masks, 96 Stained Masks, and 129 Ominous masks, which isn’t exactly a quick farm job. You probably won’t need to use your friends for their world resources, but I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt much either to have the help. The Diligence talent books can be obtained from the Taishan Mansion domain on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays and can be upgraded like the previously listed materials.

If you didn’t already know, there is only one way to get the Ashen Hearts, and that’s through *spoiler alert* the Signora weekly boss. If you have Signora’s other drops, however, (Molten Moment/Hellfire Butterfly) you can convert them to Ashen Hearts by using Dream Solvent.

Genshin Impact Crown of Insight
This tree was the bane of my existence.

Last but not least comes the Crowns of Insight which are the hardest to obtain due to how limited they are. These are only obtainable from events, the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspine, and the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma. You may be thinking we’re done, right? Wrong. Genshin won’t let you go that easily, you have Yun Jin and now you’ll have to farm her until the end. This is the life you chose.

Last but not least, your build

We won’t be delving into min/max territory here, but this is what you’re looking for when it comes to Yun Jin’s artifacts

  • Husk of Opulent Dreams – 4
  • Husk of Opulent Dreams – 2 + Emblem of Severed Fate – 2
  • Noblesse Oblige – 4

From here you can choose for yourself, but as Yun Jin is more support-oriented you’ll generally want a set of Husk of Opulent Dreams. These will serve you best due to the 30% bonus defense and the Curiosity stack buff. Curiosity stacks build as you attack enemies with Geo or every three seconds while the character is off the field. Curiosity stacks up to four times, with each stack giving a 6% bonus to both Defense and Geo damage.

Husk of Opulent Dreams can be farmed in the Slumbering Court Domain at any time. Stat-wise you’re looking more towards building DEF%, Energy Recharge, and Crit Rate – especially if you’re using Favonius Lance.

That’s pretty much everything you need to farm for Yun Jin in Genshin Impact! A prestigious dancer like Yun Jin is sure to have Opulent Dreams, but hopefully, yours won’t be shattered trying to farm for her materials.
