Xinyan is a rock ‘n’ roll star from Liyue in Genshin Impact. Wielding a ruan, a traditional Chinese stringed instrument, she uses her music as a way to bring passion to the people and rebelling against prejudice. Her kit focuses on shielding her allies as well as dealing Pyro and Physical damage. Here is how to play Xinyan in Genshin Impact.
Attacks and Skills
Attack: Dance on Fire – Xinyan wields a claymore and has a 4 strike attack chain. These deal heavy damage but have a slower attack speed. Xinyan can also do a spin attack, which drains stamina over time and ends with a heavy slash.
Elemental Skill: Sweeping Fervor – Xinyan swings her instrument, dealing Pyro damage around her and forming a shield. This shield scales off of the number of enemies Sweeping Fervor hits. If you hit three or more enemies, the shield will be at max strength and will periodically burst out Pyro damage to nearby enemies. The shield created by Sweeping Fervor has extra damage absorption against Pyro damage.
Elemental Burst: Riff Revolution – Strumming a strong riff, Xinyan knocks up nearby enemies with a burst of Physical damage. The ground then erupts pillars of fire, dealing Pyro damage over time to enemies caught within the blast.
“The Show Goes On, Even Without an Audience…”: Ascension 1 –Decreases the number of opponents Sweeping Fervor must hit to trigger each level of shielding. Shield Level 2: Lead-In requirement reduced to 1 opponent hit. Shield Level 3: Rave requirement reduced to 2 opponents hit or more.
“…Now That’s Rock ‘N’ Roll!”: Ascension 4 – Characters shielded by Sweeping Fervor deal 15% increased Physical DMG.
A Rad Recipe – When a Perfect Cooking is achieved on a DEF-boosting dish, Xinyan has a 12% chance to obtain double the product.

Artifacts and builds for Xinyan
While Xinyan is a Pyro character, her kit is more focuses on physical damage. However, with no constellations Xinyan struggles to compete as a main DPS against the likes of Razor and Diluc. When building her as a support DPS, you will want to run a 4-piece Noblesse Oblige. You will want to look for Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery sub stats.
Xinyan excels at being a main DPS character once you get Constellation 1 and 2. These buff her attack speed based on CRIT and increase the scaling of the damage on her Elemental Burst. To build Xinyan as a main DPS, you want to run a 2-piece Bloodstained Chivalry and a 2-piece Gladiator’s Intoxication. Make sure to look for Physical DMG % on your goblet, as well as attack, crit rate and crit damage sub stats.
