How to use Claudette Morel’s perks in Dead by Daylight

Dead by Daylight has 24 Survivors and counting, and in this article I will go over the perks of Claudette Morel. Each Survivor in Dead by Daylight has three unique perks that can be unlocked for your other characters, allowing you to get all perks on one Survivor. What that means, is that knowing what each Survivor has to offer is important so you know where to spend your Bloodpoints.

Claudette Morel has some of the best perks for Survivors, and I will explain why in detail.

Empathy

Claudette’s first unique perk is Empathy, and the teachable version of this perk appears on her bloodweb at level 30. Empathy works like this:

Dying or injured allies’ auras are revealed to you when within 64/96/128 meters. Empathy does not reveal Auras of Allies when they are in the Killer’s direct contact.

This perk gives you a lot of information about your team and the Killer. If someone gets injured, then you know where the Killer is. Plus, if the injured Survivor is running around, you can assume they are getting chased by the Killer, leaving you free to do generators or do whatever you want, safely. This is a great perk to run if you play Survivor by yourself.

Other than that, you can use Empathy for specific builds. If you want to be a team player you can use Empathy with Borrowed Time and Botany Knowledge. Using Empathy, you can figure out where the unfortunate Survivor will be hooked, and position yourself to save them. Or you can go after injured Survivors who have lost the Killer to help them heal.

Another great use of Empathy is if you know how to flashlight blind save. With Empathy, you can get to a Survivor before they get downed. When the Killer does down them, you will be in the perfect position to perform a flashlight blind, giving your teammate time to escape the Killer and wasting the Killer’s time.

Botany Knowledge

Claudette’s second unique perk is Botany Knowledge, and the teachable version of this perk is unlocked on her bloodweb at level 35. Botany Knowledge is very straightforward:

Healing speed and healing item efficiency is increased by 11/22/33%.”

The healing speed bonus given by Botany Knowledge makes a big impact during a game. Getting just one extra second to finish a heal can be the difference between life and death for Survivors, especially since many Killers run Sloppy Butcher to slow down healing.

Having everyone in the healthy state is also an advantage for Survivors, since the Killer has to spend more time downing each Survivor and hooking them. The more Survivors that are injured in a game, the easier it is for the Killer to win.

Botany Knowledge pairs great with Self-Care, since it allows you to heal yourself much faster and get better use out of med-kits.

Self-Care

Claudette’s final perk is Self-Care, and the teachable version of this perk is unlocked on her bloodweb at level 40. Self-Care works like this:

Unlocks the ability to heal yourself without a Med-Kit at 50% of the normal healing speed. Increases the efficiency of Med-Kit self-heal by 10/15/20%.”

Self-Care is one of the best perks in the game for Survivors, because it allows you to heal yourself. This lets you recover from the worst situations, like being the only Survivor left alive, or just not getting any help from teammates.

What makes healing so important, is that it gives you more time to escape the Killer. When you are in the healthy state and get hit by the Killer, you get a massive speed boost. With this speed boost you can get to a safe looping area, or lose the Killer.

This bears repeating: you can pair Self-Care with Botany Knowledge for a faster heal. Using a very rare med-kit with these perks will get you back in shape extremely quickly.

Self-Care works great as a standalone perk too, making it a perk that can be in nearly any build. It also helps introduce new Survivors into the game, since newer players find themselves injured quite often. Once you are more experienced in Dead by Daylight, you can start switching Self-care out for other perks.
