Call of Duty: Warzone dropped their first joint season between Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Instead of going bigger, Warzone released a new smaller map: Rebirth Island. Don’t feel like you’ve been fooled, this is a variation of the CoD: Black Ops map, Alcatraz. We check out some tips on how to get more wins during the Call of Duty: Warzone Rebirth Island event mode, Resurgence Trios.
Resurgence Trios overview
The limited time Warzone mode is called Resurgence Trios and is very straightforward. Fitfteen 3-person squads drop into Rebirth Island and fight it out to the last squad standing. Matches are quick since it’s only a 45-player battle royale, so don’t be shocked if it’s all over in less than 10 minutes.
Similar to Armored Royale, Resurgence Trios on Rebirth Island gives Call of Duty Warzone players infinite respawns as long as someone on their squad is alive. Additionally, every player has a Self-Revive at the beginning of the match, so don’t get too upset if you get downed instantly.
Warzone will not fill squads for the Rebirth Island event. If you can, bring at least one friend into a game. There’s obviously strength in numbers, but it isn’t the end of the world if you’re only rolling out in a duo. Rebirth Island is stocked up with quality guns, so it’s not too difficult to put up a fight with a smaller squad.
Ignore most of the contracts
If you’re blueprint hunting, by all means, finish as many contracts as the rewards list needs you to complete. Otherwise, you should ignore contracts for the most part. The only contracts worth finishing are: Scavenger, Bounty, or Most Wanted (if you’re brave). Warzone Rebirth Island is such a quick event that a stockpile of cash won’t help you much.
The weapons found on the ground are also pretty solid, so it’s not the end of the world if you don’t have your loadout. The point is that you should avoid running around aimlessly with a giant target on your back.
Finish your kills
As mentioned in the overview, Warzone players start with a Self-Revive on Rebirth Island. If you find yourself shooting an enemy down, try to make sure they’re not getting back up. You don’t know who has a Self-Revive on standby. This is more of a situational awareness judgment call.
Try to get the high ground
Elevation is key on Rebirth Island. Since everywhere is a hot drop, try to stake your claim on the higher elevation points of the map. It will give you multiple sightlines and an easy route to inside the circle.
If locations with multiple sightlines and easy access make you nervous, you probably shouldn’t play the Warzone Rebirth Island event at all. Luckily enough, the game’s are quick so you don’t have to get too salty about losing. This is basically Mini Royale, or the final circle of a standard Warzone game on Verdansk. It’s super busy.
Get good and have fun
Resurgence Trios on Warzone Rebirth Island is pure chaos. It’s purely reactionary and takes less strategy than normal games on the Verdansk map. Just make sure to hit your shots and have fun. Also make a point to learn the map – the Resurgence Trios mode is only around for a limited time, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see Rebirth Island featured as a regular rotational map for Warzone.
