Sola’s Scar best perks and review | Destiny 2

Sola’s Scar is the second Caster Frame to be added to Destiny 2. Just like its sister sword, Temptation’s Hook, Sola’s Scar’s heavy attack is ranged with small amount of tracking. This makes it viable both in short and mid range engagements. Here are the best perks you should look for on Sola’s Scar in Destiny 2.

Perks and rolls

Blade perks will make or break your sword. Look for ones that increase your impact stat, which equates to more damage, as well as ones that increase your ammo capacity. The two best options are Tempered Edge and Honed Edge. Jagged Edge can also be picked up if ammo is not a concern. Look for guard perks that increase efficiency as well as charge rate.

Sola’s Scar only has three options in the first column. The two that you will be looking for are Tireless Blade or Relentless Strikes, which both refund ammo after powered kills or rapid light attacks. Energy Transfer is a fairly underwhelming perk, as guarding isn’t often used with swords.

Chain Reaction is currently not found on any other sword. Getting a final blow creates an elemental explosion. The other go-to perk on Sola’s Scar would be Vorpal Weapon, for all your boss and champion killing needs. Assassin’s Blade can be useful in some situations, but is often outclassed in terms of damage.

Here are the perk combinations and god rolls you should look for on Sola’s Scar in Destiny 2:

  • Relentless Strikes + Chain Reaction – This combo is amazing for clearing large groups of enemies. Chain Reaction can activate off of itself, reducing the amount of times you need to swing your sword.
  • Tireless Blade + Vorpal Weapon –  Vorpal is your go-to for boss damage, buffing damage by 15%. It can also be stacked with a Boss Spec mod for an extra 8%.

Caster Frame swords are fun to use in Destiny 2. They provide a unique playstyle that promotes both mid and short range aggression. However, in higher end activities this weapon can get outclassed by other swords, such as the Lament, or by rocket launchers. Sola’s Scar is a sword worth picking up if you feel like playing Trials of Osiris.
