Tiny what now?
If you’re not familiar with tiny homes, it’s literally what it sounds like: tiny little houses that people live in. No, they are not houses for the vertically challenged. Nor are they mobile homes with a fancy name (although they can be mobile depending on the design).
They are micro homes for people who want to reduce their living space for any number of reasons: less stuff in the vein of Marie Kondo, a sharp decrease in utility bills, a smaller carbon footprint, etc. It became a huge craze a few years back, especially among Millennials who wanted to own a house but couldn’t afford to buy a full-size home. After all, why rent an apartment when you could pay about the same amount in mortgage on a house about the same size?
But even if you’re just addicted to one of the many tiny house shows that popped up over the last few years, The Sims 4: Tiny Living Stuff Pack will have you covered.
The Sims 4: Tiny house, big living
The add-on will have several kinds of houses to pick from, some of which don’t really qualify as “tiny.” I mean, does it really count as tiny if it has four floors and a rooftop garden? Still, it looks cool as hell. If I wasn’t so lazy (4 flights of stairs?!), I’d love to live in it.
There will also be an assortment of tiny house furniture. You’ll have Murphy beds (the kind that drops down out of the wall to save space), little tables to eat at, and furniture with smaller than usual footprints. In tiny houses, it helps to think vertically instead of horizontally.
There will also be “chunky knits for the ultimate indulgence in sweater weather.” Because why not? It’s The Sims! Why shouldn’t they lead a nicer lifestyle than you do?
The Sims 4: Tiny Living Stuff Pack will be available first on PC and Mac on Jan. 21. Then it will come out for the Xbox One and PS4 on Feb. 4. Time to get your tiny on!
