Max Damage Syndra | League of Legends Guide

League of Legends has plenty of powerful champions, but Syndra hasn’t attracted much attention recently. We want to change that, as there is a really good current build for her which makes her very OP in terms of damage.

So, if you have been waiting for a strong mid-laner and didn’t resonate with the Full AP Akali – or just like Syndra etter – then this build might be for you.

What items does Max Damage Syndra need?

  • Sorcerer’s Shoes
  • Luden’s Echo
  • Morellonomicon
  • Rabadon’s Deathcap
  • Zhonya’s Hourglass
  • Void Staff

Once again, we’re aiming to max out one of Syndra’s stats, so if you change any of the build you will end up with something completely different. You can do so, of course, especially if the game requires you to play more defensively and full on offense isn’t working out for you. But if you want to get ahead and become a murderous Syndra beast, then you should build exactly this.

The items are in order: you should start with Sorcerer’s Shoes and make Void Staff last. Although, if you see fit, then you can also build Luden’s Echo first, because if you can get a lot of gold early on, it will make farming even easier. Just make sure that you will still be laning, if this is what you want to do.

Presence of mind is really important here. It will give you some extra mana after each takedown and will increase your mana pool as well. Early on this will help you a lot, but after you get Luden’s Echo you will almost never run out of mana. If you play mages often, then you know how annoying it can get to go back after each and every fight. With this combo you won’t need to.

When should you use it?

If you want a fun and powerful League of Legends mid-laner then Syndra will be your girl. She’s strong and can easily overwhelm the entire enemy team if played correctly. Although, if you want to use this build then I personally think that it should be done in normal games – the first few times at the very least. You will have more room for error and your teammates won’t get as upset with you if things don’t work out.

This build is still good if you want to play it in ranked, but I highly recommend learning how to adapt it to certain situations. If you start falling off or your snowballing slows down, then you will have a problem, so if you don’t change the build a defeat will follow soon.

When to switch it up

Let’s be clear about something: this is not intended for low rank players. Or for those who aren’t familiar with Syndra’s abilities within regular League of Legends games. Practice her in normal games first, to get a feel for her limits and strengths. After you are confident playing her, consider if this build meshes with your typical playstyle.

Also, you will need to watch out for counters. The worst one is Fizz, as you will not be able to escape his ultimate and it will quickly bring you down. If you can avoid getting into a game with him, then do so. If you can’t, you will have a pretty hard game, but until level 6 you can harass him and try to kill him as many times as possible. Fizz won’t be able to snowball, and you will actually get over the counter problem.

How to play as Max Damage Syndra

Be as aggressive as possible. Early on in the game you will need to poke and harass the enemy with your Dark Sphere as much as you can. This will work best if they are a melee champion, as they will have to walk up to you to farm.

After the laning phase is done, you will need to pull back a little bit. Hide behind your tank(s) and try to take as little damage as possible, because you will be really squishy. If you get caught out, you will die very quickly, because League of Legends is designed for team fights and Syndra can’t really survive without her team in the mid game.

So: hit from the backline and you will be just fine.

Final thoughts

Eternal Hero’s Max Damage Syndra guide explains things a little more in depth, so if you want to know more, then go check it out. Either way, keep in mind that this build acts as a sort of multiplier to your own skills. If you are a Syndra main and feel confident in your control over her skillset, this build will reward your practice. We recommend it to everyone who can play Syndra in League of Legends well.
