Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez climbs the League of Legends ranks

Democratic New York congresswoman,  Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is now a proud owner of a Silver III rank in League of Legends. The announcement came before the stroke of midnight, via Twitter: “My small quarantine accomplishment: made it to Silver III”. She’s now in the 39th percentile of all League of Legends players globally.

It was only last year that she rose to the ranks of Silver IV. AOC won her promos with Sona, but also mains Janna, Lux, and Morgana.

When asked if “Do you feel like League of Legends has prepared you for the haters on Twitter…?”, AOC took a jab at Republicans by stating “Definitely. Right-wing Twitter is child’s play compared to inting 13 year olds”. It’s only a matter of time before Republicans take it personally, challenging Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to a League of Legends match to “own the libs”.

This isn’t the first time Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has shown her love for gaming. Last year, AOC joined Harry “hbomberguy” Brewis on his Donkey Kong 64 Twitch charity stream during the 2018-2019 U.S Federal shutdown. AOC took the time to discuss politics, trans rights, and her love for N64.

Support for the Support main is pouring in from prominent streamers and former world champions. It’s well within reason that her ladder climb could accelerate if she accepts the offer to be coached by Joedat “Voyboy” Esfahani, an LCS Champion and former top Season 1 NA solo player.

Depending on the results of the November 2020 U.S Elections, there might be a reality in which AOC becomes a team member of Cloud9.
