The Ambulance Soraka Build | League of Legends Guide

Soraka was probably one of the first champions you learned about in League of Legends. If she is on your team, then you likely fell in love with her in a second. Conversely, if she was on the enemy team then you probably hated her. Why? Because she has the ability to heal up her entire team from 10% to 100% in just a few seconds. If you don’t kill her, you will most definitely not kill her team.

So why not try her out with the best support build possible?

What items does Ambulance Soraka need?

  • Spellthief’s Edge -> Shard of True Ice
  • Ardent Censer
  • Redemption
  • Shurelya’s Reverie
  • Warmog’s Armor

And some kind of boots, of course. In most cases you will need Mercury’s Treads or Ionian Boots of Lucidity, but you can also get Boots of Mobility if you are confident that you won’t get caught out.

There is no fixed order for the items, except for the fact that you need to get your support item first, and Warmog’s Armor last. The latter is because you will not have 3000 HP before the late game, which is necessary if you want the health regeneration that Warmog’s armor gives you. Besides these, you can mix and match the rest as you would like, although it’s best to get Ardent Censer and Redemption as fast as possible.

League of Legends Soraka build

Bone Plating is absolutely necessary when you are playing a regular game of League of Legends as Soraka. It will allow you to walk up and cast a spell without you taking too much damage. This is especially true if the enemy support is ranged as well.

Revitalize is also very important, as it will enhance your heals even more.

When should you use it?

Anytime you want, really. Soraka is a very good champion, even for beginners. It doesn’t take much knowledge and skill to have a huge impact on the game with her. Therefore, this build is also perfect if you’re a lower rank and want to climb. Although, it would probably be best if you tried Soraka out in normal League of Legends games instead of bringing her straight into ranked.

This is also a great build to use if you want to find out what it’s like to be a support. If you plan to switch your roles, then Soraka is great to start out with. She will help you get used to the role, and she is probably the most appreciated champion among League of Legends supports.

When to switch it up

If the enemy is picking any kind of champion that is able to hook you, then do not pick Soraka. She is way too vulnerable to them, especially Blitzcrank and Pyke. If you find someone like that facing you in your lane, you will not be able to poke and harass as much, which is the core of your early game.

Leona and other League of Legends champions that have a lot of spells to crowd control you are also quite dangerous. Soraka relies on her movement speed, and if you take it away from her then she will be insanely vulnerable. And since she’s squishy, the enemy will be able to pop her like a balloon.

How to play as Ambulance Soraka

The early game is the most fun part. Cast your Starcall as often as you see an opportunity to hit the enemy. You will easily be able to heal up the trade, but they will just take the damage. Although, if the enemy laners seem to be able to avoid it, then you need to shift the build a little bit and start leveling up your Equinox. It’s instant, so they can’t just walk away from it.

During the mid game you need to stay back as much as you can. The only spells you will be using are Wish and Astral Infusion. And maybe Equinox, but that will be quite uncommon. At this stage your only job is to keep everyone alive and heal your heart out.

Once you get to the late game and have your Warmog’s Armor, things will get much easier. Your entire health bar will fill up within seconds if you don’t take damage for a while, so you will be able to return to battle quickly.

Hanjaro’s guide to Soraka is pretty similar to what I recommend, so you should read it next if you want to learn the build and playstyle better or more in-depth. Hanjaro explains certain tactics really well, so you will be able to quickly pick up on what you need to do.

Final thoughts

What else is there to say? Soraka is amazing and you should go now to try her out. Or you can go ahead and give the Unbeatable Rakan build a try, as it’s a pretty fun League of Legends support as well.
