August is upon us and I couldn’t be more excited about it: sunny skies, cool drinks… and a bunch of new games to play! Here’s a list of the 8 upcoming games for August 2020 I am most excited for!
Total War: Troy
First up on the upcoming games for August 2020 list is Total War: Troy. A lot of players have crossed paths with one or more of the Total War strategy titles at some point. I mean, there are literally dozens of them. And for good reason too, as they are pretty amazing to play: kudos to Creative Assembly.
Now, Total War: Troy is the first of the series to be set in the Bronze Age, so I’m already excited about it. The best part? The game is coming out on August 13 and it will be free for the first 24 hours, so there’s really no excuses not to play it.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition
Players get to play as adventurers who travel in a caravan, gathering mystical fuel for crystals that protect the world’s settlements from the destructive Miasma.
The main singleplayer campaign is all about defending the crystals from enemies and solving quite a few mysteries in the process. As for the multiplayer mode, up to 4 players can play together to protect the crystals.
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of the New Champions
Captain Tsubasa anime and game fans, I’ve got some news for you: a new game is on its way and it looks pretty cool.
We’ve waited 10 years since the last console game came out, but our waiting is at its end, as Captain Tsubasa: Rise of the New Champions is coming out on August 28.
As for the story, make no mistake: it’s going to be about soccer! The game brings the anime’s signature intensity to the sport of soccer, allowing players to perform impossible tricks against tough opponents.
Everyone who reads my articles knows by now that I’m a huge post-apocalyptic game fan, so naturally, I’m excited for Wasteland 3, an upcoming tactical turn-based RPG from inXile Entertainment.
Wasteland 3 is all about surviving in the freezing wastes of a post-apocalyptic Colorado. Players take on the role of the last surviving member of Team November, a squad of rangers, and will be faced with many choices, all of which will impact the game’s direction and story.
In Wasteland 3, players get to ride a special vehicle in order to explore the world and gather supplies for survival. My personal favorite part is that the campaign can be played in co-op mode.
Serious Sam 4
Serious Sam 4 is a first-person shooter game that needs no introduction. This new chapter will feature classic enemies, as well as some epic new ones and according to the developers, Serious Sam 4 is to be much more challenging than the previous games in the series.
Fast & Furious Crossroads
You may have guessed this from the title, but Fast & Furious Crossroads is an action-role playing game based on the Fast & Furious film franchise.
The game is set all over the world and features characters from the film franchise. We’re talking Dominic Toretto, Letty Ortiz, Roman Pearce, and a few other surprise names.
Despite being inspired by the Fast & Furious film franchise, the story of the game is completely new and authentic, said to be packed with action, new gadgets, and of course tons of sports cars.
PGA Tour 2K21
Golf lovers, this game is 100% for you and basically nobody else. PGA Tour 2K21 was designed for golf players of all skill levels, from rookies to seasoned pros. There are dozens of real-time tutorials, pro tips and even shot suggestions for newbies. As for the old dogs, you get to play with Pro Vision, Distance Control, Putt Preview and a lot of other interesting features.
Just like real life golf, PGA Tour 2K21 is a social experience. You can link up with friends or join up online matches in modes like Alt-Shot, Stroke Play, Skins all the way up to 4-Player Scramble. Plus, players can join squads and clubhouses, to play full seasons and tournaments. You know, just like the real thing.
Madden NFL 21
Last but not least on the best upcoming games for August 2020 list is Madden NFL 21. This latest installment of the long-running Madden NFL series will include new gameplay mechanics that will give players much more control over the game. It should let you exercise a lot of creativity in how you play, too. Besides freedom of gameplay, Madden NFL 21 promises a new degree of realism.
While not everything may be perfect with this latest entry in the series, Madden fans have lots to look forward to in this one.
