Getting into Albion Online for the first time or returning after a long while can be a bit overwhelming. The game is somewhat complex, and you need to understand at least the basics before venturing out into that world. However, today we are not going to be talking about the basics.
Today we are going to explore one of Albion Online’s most complex systems: Fame Credits. This is a complicated subject and I will try to explain it as simply as possible, so please stay with me!
What are Fame Credits?
Fame Credits – what the heck are they? There is no such term in any other MMORPGs out there, so it is quite understandable to be a bit confused by it. But, before answering this question, first you need to know what Fame is.
In Albion Online, Fame is the equivalent to EXP, meaning Experience Points. The name may be different, but it works very similarly to how EXP works in other games.
Now that we have gotten that out of the way, we can move on to Fame Credits. Fame credits are a new feature of the game and can work as a form of currency.
How to get Fame Credits
There aren’t many ways to acquire Fame in Albion Online. You can’t just buy it off the market or anything simple like that. In fact, Fame can only be obtained in two specific ways. First, you will be rewarded with Fame Credits whenever you max out all Mastery levels on a certain node.
The other way is through respecing, converting your specialization levels directly into Fame Credits. Simply put, respecing is all about deleting levels on one item and then placing them in another item. You open up the first item on the level, then lower it as much as you want, and you’ll get fame credits in return. Do keep in mind, that you will have to pay a certain amount of silver. Then just open up the item you want to level up and use the fame credits to increase it.
I would advise you to NOT go crazy with respecing, because you lose 20% Fame each time you do it!
The conversion rates to Fame Credit in Albion Online is not 1 to 1. The conversion will depend on the sort of specialization you are trying to level up. But I have put up a simple table to help you understand more clearly:
As you can see, it is much easier and cheaper to level up shoes and head items rather than weapons. Weapons are the most costly of all.
So there you have it, the Fame Credits system explained as simply as I can. It might feel a bit overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it, you will use it pretty much automatically.
