Dead Island 2 passes 1 million copies in 3 days, and other zombie-slaying figures

it's doin' numbers

With the release of Dead Island 2 over the past weekend, over one million slayers have already taken to the LA streets, weapons in hand. Just three days after the (long awaited) Apr. 21 release from Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios, here are some key zombie stats that may interest you:

  • More than 1 million – copies of Dead Island 2 sold in first weekend
  • 11 million – total hours played
  • 28 million – total number of player deaths (over twice the population of Los Angeles)
  • 45 million – zombies sliced in half
  • 756 million – zombie limbs hacked off
  • 1.1 billion – total number of zombies slayed

While it may have been a whole nine years in the making, it seem Dead Island 2 wasn’t too late, still managing to satisfy eager fans. I mean, with figures like 756 million zombie limbs severed, the numbers really just speak for themselves.
