JSR successor Bomb Rush Cyberfunk finally has a release date – and we won’t have to wait long

Everyone shut up, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk got an official release date. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a game that’s kept Jet Set Radio fans on edge while waiting for a confirmed release date – me included – and now we finally have something courtesy of the Nintendo Indie World Showcase. Clear your calendars for August and book off the 18th, because that’s Bomb Rush time.

…Only on PC and Nintendo Switch though. “Other platforms” haven’t gotten their official release date yet, nor are they even specified. It’s safe to assume Team Reptile is referring to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Team Reptile initially said the debut on other platforms will happen one week later, but it’s hard to say if that’s still the case.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is shaping up to be the Jet Set Radio successor fans have been begging for, with each trailer convincing us of that more and more. It helps that Team Reptile brought in Hideki Naganuma as well who did the original score for both Jet Set Radio and JSR Future. All in all, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk already looks and sounds like a true JSR successor, all that’s left is for us to lace up our skates and stock up on spray paint.
