LDLC OL win the LFL 2022 Championship title

After finishing at the top of the Ligue Française de League of Legends 2022 standing during the regular season, LDLC OL captured the title on Thursday when they defeated BDS Academy.

The Olympique Lyonnais esports squad started the series strong with back to back wins. The first two games of the series were very closely contested by both teams, but in the end, the teamwork of LDLC made the difference. Despite having their backs against the wall, BDS Academy fought back furiously to tie the series at 2-2 and force one last game.

With everything on the line, both teams loaded into the Rift, looking to defeat their opponents one last time and secure the championship. For a good portion of the final duel, both teams played a slow game, but a major swing happened at the 28 minutes mark when LDLC’s jungler, Martin “Yike” Sundelin, was able to steal the Baron away from his opponent. It was at this point that LDLC was able to take over the game with their team-fight oriented composition. Unfortunately for BDS Academy, they were not able to complete the reverse sweep, and they ultimately watched their nexus explode for the last time. LDLC were then crowned the Champions de France at LFL 2022.

Both LFL 2022 finalists will participate in the European Masters against the best teams of other leagues in Europe. The French league will be represented by LDLC OL and BDS Academy in the main stage. Meanwhile, Karmine Corp and Vitality Bee will have to claw their way out of the Play-In stage. The Amazon European Masters is set to start on April 4.
