Mario Day 2023: The plumber’s holiday just got a huge power-up

In case you didn’t already know, every year on Mar. 10, Nintendo celebrates MAR10 (Mario) day with a slew of fun sales, surprises, and more! This year, however, Nintendo decided to extend that celebration, opting to dedicate the whole month of March to the mustachioed hero.

The celebrations began with a whole Mushroom Kingdom’s worth of announcements. First off came the reveal of a new Nintendo Switch Mario Choose One Bundle, more info regarding Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass DLC, and a Nintendo Switch sale dedicated to Mario and his various adventures!

The Mario celebration lasts the entire month, with special events, promotions, and activities. Here’s what fans can expect from Nintendo for their favorite plumber:

  • Nintendo Switch Mario Choose One Bundle: This bundle comes with the Nintendo Switch, a pair of red Joy-Cons, one free full Nintendo Switch Mario game download, and stickers from the upcoming Super Mario Bros Movie.
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s fourth wave of DLC with the Booster Course Pass. The high-speed fun continues with the next eight courses coming to  Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Tour Amsterdam Drift, GBA Riverside Park, Wii DK Summit, Yoshi’s Island, Tour Bangkok Rush, DS Mario Circuit, GCN Waluigi Stadium, and Tour Singapore Speedway are among the new Fruit Cup and Boomerang Cups. This wave of DLC will also include Birdo as a new playable character.
  • The Mario game sale comes in two waves – with the first wave starting today! This first wave includes Mario Party Superstars, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Yoshi’s Crafted World, and Luigi’s Mansion 3 – on sale until midnight on Mar. 24. The second wave of the sale runs from midnight on Mar. 24 until  midnight on Apr. 8 and includes savings on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Super Mario Maker 2 and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.
  • Kids can also join in on the Mario fun every day at Play Nintendo with activities and videos, DIY crafts, quizzes, gameplay, and more featuring Mario and friends!
