Our totally unbiased Nintendo Direct highlights – Sept. 13, 2022

September’s Nintendo Direct unveiled many announcements big and small – with tons of big titles returning to claim wallets once more. Here are some of the highlights for this Nintendo Direct!

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Obviously, the new Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the main highlight of this Nintendo Direct. If you’re as excited as I and many others are, you probably want me to just shut up and let you watch the trailer.

Incredible. The music, the visuals, Link f**king skydiving – and that May 2023 release date? I’m hyped.

Bayonetta 3

Everyone’s favorite hair-wearing, gun-toting mommy Witch is back and ready to take down some bioweapons and save the world. This time around there’s more demons, more hair, more locales, and more barrels on her gun. So really it’s everything you could want in a new Bayonetta game.

Fire Emblem Engage

The newest Fire Emblem game has been announced, and honestly guys – it looks great. Characters new and old are set to unite in this adventure – and the best part? The main protagonist has red and blue hair and eyes. Is it a little on the nose? Maybe, but I’ve gotten a kick out of the Joy-Con colored features, and I’m sure you did too.

Octopath Traveller 2

After the smashing success of Octopath Traveller, it’s no surprise Octopath Traveller 2 was announced. This time around, you’ll be taking control of eight brand-new characters on their various quests throughout Celestia. Eight new characters, eight new journeys, and eight new experiences with many new twists and turns await, all with that signature Octopath Traveller gorgeousness.

Fae Farm

This Nintendo Direct was strangely big on farming – with Fae Farm being no exception.

Fae farm is an adorable little farming game à la Stardew Valley, set in a beautiful fantasy land. It’s like if Stardew Valley was 3D and set in a vibrant land with magic, kingdoms, and more! It just looks so overwhelmingly cozy that it sets itself up to carry the torch from Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing – and I love that.

Whether it’s dungeons, exploring, or just the peace of the farm – Fae Farm is looking like a good contender to soak up whatever free time you thought you were going to have. It’s also set to have multiplayer, which means you can share the fun and coziness with your best pals.

That’s all folks!

That’s it for now! Of course, there were tons of other announcements from this Nintendo Direct, but these are just a few of the highlights! In case you missed it, you can check out the live stream and see all that farming goodness for yourself! Oh, and all the other games too I guess.
