Surprise, TERA players, it’s update time! Well, the update went live on Jan. 14 aka yesterday, so I guess I was the only surprised one. My favourite MMO is having a ‘weeklong dungeon highlight’, during which players will get increased loot drops when the following dungeons are completed:
- Bahaar’s Sanctum
- Demokron Factory (Hard)
- Antaroth’s Abyss
- Dark Reach Citadel
- Lilith’s Keep
- Ravenous Gorge (3-person)
I took a break from TERA for college, so now that I’ve graduated, I absolutely cannot wait to get back into it on the regular. This sounds like the optimal time to do that. Personally, I’ve never been able to beat Demokron Factory, but… well, I’m rusty when it comes to dungeons. I probably won’t win anything during this event, but maybe the next one! I’ll have to brush up on my skills.
The announcement noted that the Adventure Coin cost for Akalath Quarantine has been reduced, but the drop rates remain the same.
There is also a Vanguard Bonus—meaning increased item rewards and gold as you complete Vanguard Requests. Honestly, why didn’t they give us this ages ago? There are so many Vanguard Requests and so little time to do them all! We deserve some extra rewards.

More cool stuff in this TERA update: the Twitch Prime Starter pack has gone live—this means that players (new or returning) can gain 30 days of elite status by linking their Amazon Prime and En Masse accounts before May 19! I’ll definitely be connecting my accounts for free elite status—I guess they’ll get my information but hey, it’s worth it in the end!
It is also worth noting that the Starlyn Battleground came back on Jan 6, and is an ongoing event until the 21. The guaranteed rewards for Starlyn Battleground week 2 is a ‘Lucky Plate Box’, Lucky Plate Boxes are guaranteed to contain: Golden Plates, Silver Plates, Violet Plates, or Azure Plates. These boxes cannot be traded, have no sale value, and cannot be stored in a bank or guild.
