Regigigas can be found within The Crown Tundra but you cannot find it in a temple like the other Regi Pokemon. Instead, Regigigas spawns in a specific raid den, but only if you have the right Pokemon on your team. I will tell you everything you need to know so you can catch this Pokemon with no help.
Step 1: Catch all the Regi Pokemon
Catching the Regi Pokemon sounds simple enough until you think about Regieleki and Regidrago. You can only choose one per save file, meaning you must trade to get the other. But if you have Pokemon Bank, and Nintendo Switch Online, you can obtain both all on your own. To learn how to do this, check out my guide showing you how to get Regieleki and Regidrago in your main game.
If you do not have access to Pokemon Bank, then you will have to find someone willing to trade. If Regirock, Regice, or Registeel are giving you any trouble, then check out my guides going over how to catch them.
After obtaining all the Regi Pokemon, you need to make sure you are prepared for battle.
Step 2: Preparation
Regigigas is one of the most unique battles in the game. You will have to fight a level 100 Regigigas in a max raid battle by yourself. That’s right, you cannot have any help in this battle. This is most likely this way so players would not be able to easily farm Regigigas over and over. So having a strong Pokemon is a must if you want to capture it.
Regigigas is a normal type with the moves Giga Impact, Zen Headbutt, Hammer Arm, and Crush Grip. So bring a Pokemon that will be able to take these moves. Its ability is Slow Start, which halves Regigigas attack and speed for 5 turns. This means you will want to defeat Regigigas before that 5th turn, or it will become a massive threat to your team.
Unlike most raid battles, in this battle you are not limited to one Pokemon, there is no turn limit, and multiple knockouts will not push you out of the raid den. So it feels like a normal Pokemon battle, just in a raid battle. If you are worried about your team getting knocked out, then bring some Revives and Max Potions. As for Pokeballs, Regigigas is a 100% catch chance, so use any Pokeball you want!
One of the best Pokemon for a fight like this will be Zacian. I use an Adamant Zacian with max attack and max speed. Have it hold the Rusted Sword and its attack will raise one stage on the first turn of battle. This massive attack stat combined with its unique move Behemoth Blade – which deals double damage to Dynamax Pokemon – turns Zacian into a lethal force. Using Behemoth Blade, my level 100 Zacian was able to one-shot or almost one-shot Regigigas consistenty through multiple battles.
Other great Pokemon for this fight would be any strong attackers and special attackers. Dragapult is a great alternative choice since its ghost typing will make it immune to two of Regigigas’ moves. Just Dynamax and it will be an easy win.
You could also use Venusaur, Cinderace, Dracovish, and Gengar. Most Pokemon will do fine, as long as they are level 100.
Step 3: Finding Regigigas
As I mentioned, Regigigas spawns in a specific raid den. You will not need a Wishing Piece to activate it. The only thing you need are Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regieleki, and Regidrago in your party. With these Pokemon, make your way to Giant’s Bed and head towards Snowside Slope. When you go up the final hill leading into Snowside Slope, there will be a raid den surrounded by four rocks. It is right in the middle of the path to Snowside Slope, so you will see it right away.
Now save your game, because it is possible to get a shiny Regigigas by resetting your game. So if shiny hunting this Pokemon is on your mind, just know it is possible.
Step 4: Fighting Regigigas
Now you can interact with the raid den and the battle with Regigigas will start. You will see right away if Regigigas is shiny or not; this means that will not need to catch it first to confirm it is shiny, like you would with the Pokemon in Dynamax Adventures. If you have a Zacian, just Behemoth Blade your way to victory. Otherwise you should Dynamax your first Pokemon and start attacking.
Another unique aspect to this battle is that Regigigas does not use max moves, or hit multiple times in one turn. This gives you a huge advantage, since you do not have to worry about status drops, or Regigigas boosting its own power. Just heal your Pokemon as needed throughout the fight, and you will knockout Regigigas with no problem!
That is how you catch Regigigas in The Crown Tundra. Regigigas is a powerful Pokemon that is a threat now thanks to Weezing’s ability Neutralizing Gas. So there are a lot of great uses for this Pokemon.
Enjoy your new Regigigas, and make sure to stay tuned for more guides on Pokemon and The Crown Tundra.
